Aly, from Why Does My Dog, explains about a common activity that leaves many dog owners scratching their head, which is when a dog eats some dirt. Aly explains why that happens so you don’t have to worry. “Dogs eat dirt for mineral deficiencies and tummy upsets. Many dogs eat dirt just because it tastes good or they find food droppings from other animals or birds in it. Eating dirt is not usually a concern. You can call your vet if there are other signs of a medical condition or it causes you extra concern.
