VTech CareLine Phone System Review

vtt_careline_banner3Two-years ago I took on the task of caring for my elderly mother. She is diabetic, in the early stages of Alzheimer and often falls. Last year while I was attending the BlogHer convention in New York, mom fell because she insisted on staying home alone rather than with my sister while I was away. The fall knocked her unconscious, when she woke up she was unable to move, unable to call for help and as a result she laid there for two-days and nearly died because she was unable to get her diabetic medication.

When I first heard of the new VTech Careline system, I immediately thought of my mother and my mother-in-law. Both of which are elderly and not in the best of health. I realize I spend more time worrying about them than I do anything else. With the VTech Careline system in place, I can rest assured that if one of them need help, it’s just a push of the button away. The VTech Caerline system comes with a pendant they can wear, and in the event they fall, get sick or need emergency services, they can simply push a bottom and get immediate help. On moms pendant, I programed 911 for the first call and my sister for the second call.
This also allows me more freedom. I can now leave the house and not worry as much that mom will fall, or have a stroke.

Another great feature is that I can program her phone to remind her to take her medication, which is something she forgets on a regular basis. Plus the easy to read large numbers make it easier for mom to make calls.

The VTech Careline system is great for elderly or disable individuals. Personally, I believe there should be one in every home. No one is excpet form an emergency. A child could easily get help for a family member or themselves if needed. Simply leaving the pendant in one place and teaching your child which number to push in case of an emergency would benefit everyone.
I’m recommending the VTech Careline this holiday season. Put it under your tree this year and give the sense of security to someone you love.

Would love to have one for my home especially since I have a 3yr old daughter, but I really would like to win one to give my grandmother for her 80th Birthday this month. She’s in good health and looks really great for her age, like 10 years younger! But, she lives all alone in a two story home and has had a couple small scares with the stairs in the past. I just really feel like this would help her and all our family feel more comfortable and worry less about her living alone!

We don’t have a house phone and although my son has a cell phone he often “misplaces” it, this would be a great thing to have at the house in case of emergency!

We don’t have a house phone and even though my son has a cell phone, he often “misplaces” it. This would be great to have in the house in cases of emergency, I would know he could always get help.

I would love to win this! I have a TBI and seizure disorder after an auto accident and this would give my husband and kids peace of mind since I am always at home alone.

I love this.. My grandpa is 92 and still lives on his own. Well kind of his apartment is attached to my aunt and uncles house and they worry about him often. I think this would be great for their piece of mind when they are there or at work.

My mother in law is 84 years old, diabetic with many other health issues. I worry that she may need help some day when no one is around.

My mother-in-law just got out of the hospital and lives in another state. We are trying to get her to move closer to us, but in the meantime, this would be such a big help.
