Eating is pleasurable. Right, mommies? Sometimes, eating is our refuge over a busy and jam-packed day (or vacation!). And when we finally noticed we had put on “some” weight, a few inch of girth has been added to our body!
Well, don’t we all want to be slim? Slim is not just pretty, it is healthy too! Overloading our systems with anything in great quantity is not healthy! And too much of anything can be bad for the health (and weight!)!
We all want to get rid of that extra pound just beneath our skin. But the busy days seems unending, and there is no time for a workout! Well, here are some tips you can follow to lose weight and effectively manage them.
Most people claim that they have no time for a workout. There’s just too much that needs to be done and working out would waste time. Well, what if, five to ten minutes is enough? Would you try it?
High-intensity interval training, or HIIT, is a popular workout mode that even athletes include in their regimen. Well, athletes take it to some other level to be at their top shape for competition. But for us, normal people, we can use this method to lose and maintain a healthy weight.
This mode of training is designed to be done in a few minutes only. But the training difficulty requires you to pump your heart rate to the max! The principle behind this method is to place the heart rate to a level where oxygen intake while breathing is not enough that forces the body to metabolize anaerobically.
Essentially, in this state, the body burns more calories in a short training period. The idea is to exercise intensely for 45 seconds and rest for 15 seconds that will be repeated in 8-10 cycles. It takes up to 10 minutes to finish the workout.
If a 45-second workout and 15-second rest feel like too much, you can lower it down to 30-second workout and 15-second rest. Gradually work your way until you can do it up to 45 seconds! You can do this every morning just before the shower! It doesn’t take long!
Food Selection and Eating Habit
Gaining too much weight can also be attributed to unhealthy eating habits. I know, I’m sorry, we are all guilty about this. And sometimes, we just don’t want to throw off that last piece of pizza, and we eat them instead!
Many, many moms are guilty with this. Don’t we all hate leftover food? Yeah, and it adds up to the bulk! It becomes excess weight! Here are some things you can do to avoid eating unhealthy stuff and make a healthy menu!
- Overhaul the pantry.
When you check your pantry, it seems as though your family can survive a zombie apocalypse! Too many canned foods, instant foods, processed food, and everything that is full of salt and preservatives! These food are packed with large portions of preservatives to make it last for years!
Unfortunately, they are the source of insanely high unnecessary calories! If it’s in the kitchen, the likelihood of eating it is very high! Take them out and get rid of them!
- Restock with healthy alternatives.
If you have a healthy selection of food, chances are, you will cook and eat healthy food! You may need to go to the grocery more frequently to replenish fruits and greens as they don’t have long shelf life.
- Avoid fast food. Prepare meals in advance.
When things get rough, fast food is the easiest choice you may think of. But sometimes, it seems like the tough times are not going to end soon!
Preparing meals in advance can spare you the hassle of having to cook when things get busy. There are many things you can cook in advance for easier preparation when needed. Lentils can be cooked in advance and kept in the freezer for a long time.
Gaining weight seems like a common thing for almost everyone nowadays. But getting rid of that “extra” can be a little daunting and depressing at times! With a little dedication and some motivation, you can shed that off with exercise and healthy eating habits!
But when things are a little under control, you may want to add laxative in your regimen accelerate the process!
