Plastic Pollution, we hear about it, we see it, it’s on our TV screens, in our magazines, and it’s driving me nuts! Moms, who is with me on this one?  With the constant bombardment of news, we definitely can no longer shield our young ones from this scary and broad topic.  I, for one, want to teach my children why and how we need to reduce our waste, but how can I do that without overwhelming them?

Introducing United Letters – this mindful personalized book company is launching their Ocean Adventure story, a book that will help teach young readers about ocean preservation while making her the hero of her very own adventure story!  We received our gorgeous hardcover book yesterday and it came beautifully wrapped, which was such a pleasant surprise! The company not only teaches sustainability through its books, but also practices sustainability by shipping plastic free, and using non-toxic and premium paper from environmentally compatible sources (FSC).

Emma was super excited to unwrap her book and when she did she was super stoked as the book was personalized with her name in the title! I was really impressed by the quality of the book – it’s really well made and sturdy with nice thick card stock pages. We immediately dove into the story and were transported to a magical underwater world with Emma as the hero along with her sea turtle friend, Myrtle, battling plastic pollution in the ocean.  The drawings are absolutely gorgeous with vivid colors and loads of fun details to engage little readers.  Emma particularly was drawn to little clown triggerfish who features in the story as well as the family of baby sea turtles.  It’s just so cute!

Emma’s Ocean Adventure book was a great tool to introduce the concept of sustainability to my daughter, turning a big concept into something that is more digestible for a 4 year old.  Even though Emma’s character needed to find a solution to help her sea creature friends’ save their home, there was always a positive vibe carrying over page by page and Emma really felt at the end of the story encouraged and motivated.  I may have a little environmental activist on my hands now! This has got to be one of the best children’s environmental picture books out there to build early childhood awareness about ocean preservation.  Moreover, the company is giving a portion of proceeds to the Coral Restoration Foundation, the world’s leading organization for coral reef education and restoration.

I totally recommend United Letters’ Personalized Ocean Adventure book to parents, educators and anyone looking for a great kid’s gift.

My sister is a photographer and my mom wants to document it in a hardcover book. It was explained here that she should choose a company who was able to launch a book. Furthermore, it’s recommended to consult experts when planning to have a personalized hardcover book.
