Are you looking to buy your first motorcycle? There’s a lot you need to learn.
Before you get your motorcycle license, buy a new ride, and get out on the open road, you’re going to want to learn a thing or two about who’s building the best bikes. No matter what style of motorcycle you’re looking for, there are brands that stand above the rest.
Today, we’re going to discuss the best motorcycle brands and give you some information so that you can make the best decision on your new bike. The faster you learn, the faster you’ll be out there letting the wind blow through your hair.
- Harley Davidson
If you want to talk about brands, then Harley Davidson has got it down better than any other company out there. It’s easily the most iconic motorcycle manufacturer in the world, due in part to the lifestyle attached to owning one.
There’s a little something for everyone. If you want something sleek, there’s a street model for you. If you want something to take on a cross-country trip, there are numerous touring and CVO options out there as well.
Ducati was founded in 1926 in Italy by Ducati himself and his three sons. These bikes are completely different beasts to what you see from a company like Harley Davidson. If you want to go fast and look cool at the same time, get yourself a Ducati. Just make sure you don’t get carried away or you’ll need a motorcycle injury lawyer.
Now let’s look at one of the all-time classic brands, BMW. This German manufacturer is more usually associated with its automobiles, but they were actually building aircraft engines for the war and then motorcycles before cars.
The M2B15 came out in 1921 and they’ve been progressing ever since, making both sports models and long-distance riders.
Triumph is a more niche brand, but they’re actually one of the oldest motorcycle manufacturers in the world, starting around 1902. They produced almost 30,000 bikes for the WWI allied war effort and it never really slowed down after that.
They’re mostly known for their classic cool looks, popularized by movie stars in the 50s. One thing’s for sure, if you get a Triumph, you’re going to get some looks.
Honda is another popular car manufacturer that has seen a lot of success with motorcycles. Like BMW, they actually started making bikes before cars with the 1949 D-type. By 1959, they were the most prolific motorcycle manufacturer in the world (a title that they still hold).
Honda makes a wide variety of bikes, ranging from sporty street models to long-distance travelers like the one’s Triumph and Harley Davidson makes.
Pick Your Poison With the Best Motorcycle Brands
Choosing from the best motorcycle brands in the world is a big decision, but you can’t really go wrong. Figure out what style of bike you want and go from there. If you’re looking for something sporty, you can go with a Ducati or Honda, but if you want classic good looks and a smooth ride, a Harley or Triumph could be for you.
