How Much Water Should You Drink In Winter?

Many people make the mistake of thinking that because in winter humans sweat less, they need to drink less water. That is simply not correct, and in this article, you can learn everything about the actual amount of water you should be drinking during the winter months.

Why Do I Need To Drink More Water?

The truth is, during the winter months, you need to drink even more than you normally should. That is because when it is cold, the blood flow to our extremities works in a restricted fashion to boost the flow of blood in our vital organs. Pretty crafty, yes, but ultimately misleading because this tricks the body, and therefore our minds too, into thinking that we do not need water.

On a different note, humans also tend to trust their instincts when it comes to drinking water, but not many people out there are aware of how unreliable our instincts actually are. Just because when it’s cold people do not necessarily feel like drinking a cold glass of water, that does not mean that they don’t need it at all. To help you increase your desire for water, you can opt to drink herbal teas or simply buy a brand-new water bottle. Alternatively,  You can find an osmosis system here.

Artificial Heating and Adequate Hydration

Another factor that remained undetected for the longest time is the fact that in winter, we use a lot of artificial heating, which, guess what causes dehydration. Dehydration can be bad for our skin, as well as for our energy levels. Together with this, during the cold winter months, you might also feel as if your immune system is compromised, and this can be exacerbated by a lack of proper dehydration.

On this note, know that in winter, the recommended advice is to drink from six to eight glasses of water per day, which equals about 1.2 liters. If you find it hard to drink normal water, you can try the Water filter system from Smardy-blue, which can purify your water and ultimately make it more pleasant to drink. If you are not sure whether you are dehydrated or not, you can count back on how many glasses of water you drank. Even if symptoms-less, dehydration can be very problematic for many people, in the long run. Because of this, it is always better to drink a little bit more than needed and keep our body running like it deserves.
