Israel has several water hikes that are perfect for adventurers families looking for a refreshing and unique experience.

It doesn’t matter if you prefer the north of Israel or its south, great water trails are to be found all around the country.

Some things to take into consideration when planning your water family trip

Although water trip, can be the perfect solution for a hot day in Israel’s summer, there are  few important notes to pay attention to make sure you will enjoy to the fullest:

  1. Most of the trails require swimming, so make sure you only visit those places with children who know how to swim and feel safe in deep water.
  2. Unfortunately, although the water trails places are well known and loved in Israel, it is not reachable by local public transportation. Best way to get to them, is by renting a car in Israel and drive to the places directly using “Waze” or “Google maps” apps which will take you there safely.
  3. Most of the Water trails in Israel, are part of nature reserves. Due to that, there are specific hours which you can enter in the different seasons, and there is entrance fee.  For your trip successes, make sure to check all the details prior to the arrival in their websites.

Now, after you have the car, the hours and all the nessecry equipment, you can start to think where you want to go.

Here are some of the best water hikes in Israel:

  1. Ein Gedi Nature Reserve: Ein Gedi is an oasis located near the Dead Sea, and it is home to several waterfalls and pools. The reserve has several trails that lead to these pools, including the Wadi David and Wadi Arugot trails. Expect to see in this hike biblical dessert views along side rich fauna of trees and animlas.
  2. Nachal Arugot: Nachal Arugot is a stream located in the Jurdean Desert, and it offers hikers a challenging and rewarding hike through narrow canyons, waterfalls, and pools.
  3. Banias Waterfall: The Banias Waterfall is located in the Golan Heights, and it’s one of the most impressive waterfalls in Israel. The trail to the waterfall takes visitors through a lush forest and offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
  4. Yehudiya Forest Nature Reserve: The Yehudiya Forest Nature Reserve is located in the Golan Heights, and it offers several hiking trails that lead to waterfalls, natural pools, and streams.
  5. Sachne: Sachne is a natural spring located near the Sea of Galilee, and it’s a popular spot for swimming and hiking. The trail around the spring offers visitors stunning views of the surrounding landscape, and there are several waterfalls and pools to cool off in along the way.

These water hikes offer a unique way to explore Israel’s natural beauty and to escape the summer heat. Visitors should come prepared with appropriate footwear, plenty of water, and a sense of adventure
