Season One: Welcome to East High
East High is no stranger to the television and streaming audience. A spinoff from the 2006 big screen High School Musical brings the students of East High to life in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. Here, the world meets 2019’s heartthrobs revived with Ricky and Gabriella, and new characters that will make everybody swoon.
Season One centers around a world of characters getting to know each other in between classes and rehearsals and high school drama. Love happens on the small screen, and on the stage for their productions in high school. It’s one episode after another of fun, love, and poetic musical drama.
Season Two: New Faces in School
The cast expands in this season with Joshua Bassett continuing as the lead in Ricky and Olivia Rodrigo carrying on her role as the beloved Nini. The world is now full of ex boyfriends and ex girlfriends and all of the stories that people need to share about them. More food for the gossip mill is found with the new Drama teacher at East High’s competitor school North High.
And there’s no shortage of drama there either. North High’s new drama teacher is a successful actor in their own right, with an ex at East High. The world can be small sometimes when you’re singing about someone else’s love and a rival school is involved.
Season Three Continues to Break Hearts
Relationships get more serious and conversations become more grown up at all levels in every relationship in this season that takes place during the summer. No curfews mean more long thoughts and discussions that follow. Of course, no teen summer drama is complete without a summer camp. Camp Shallow Lake sets the stage for a lot of lifelong memories to be born, as the stars grapple with the upcoming school’s production of Frozen, and the competitive energy the cast is feeling about that.
Season Four the Series Finale
In Season Four, we all know the end is near, and every dialogue built into this season drips with that story. Summer Camp is over and the next production is going to be about the school’s own senior year. Trails are blazed in relationships here where every audience will be blessed with the growth of community and society and newly conventional first kisses that never would have happened on Beverly Hills: 90210.
