Having access to a trusted 9-1-1 system is extremely important. Therefore when I heard about the RapidSOS app, I was blown away at all the important features this app has available.
Members of the RapidSOS team have worked at NASA, Google, Oracle, Bell Labs, Argonne & Oak Ride National Labs, along with many start-up companies. So knowing that confirms that this team has created a winning app.
The concept behind this app is simple: it can connect you to receive help no matter where you are. What I really like most about this app is the ability to connect emergency contacts. Let’s say you dialed 911, the moment that happens your family members that are connected will be alerted that you’ve been taken to the hospital. That’s a feature I know many of us will appreciate. I’m sure we all have come across times where we didn’t have time to alert other family members beforehand.
Now with just one touch you can send 9-1-1 important information that will help you receive the care you need much quicker. This app will include the type of emergency and GPS location when data connection is available. The intelligent connectivity optimizes the connection, even if you have poor service or a low battery. If you are in a situation where you can’t talk, you can text 9-1-1 and be discreet if needed.
On the other end of the spectrum, you can let your loved ones know when you get to your destination using the Family Connect built-in feature. This app is also wonderful to use for check-ins from your kids. As a parent, I always felt better knowing where my kids were, even though I knew at all times they were where they said they would be. Well except my oldest, but hey, he was my first so he was my trial run.
I really wish this app was out a few years ago when my Grandma fell and broke her hip, this would have been very beneficial to her. After laying on the floor for 12 hours in pain, shocked and no way to contact anyone this incident really took a toll on her body. With this app, her phone would have been large enough to carry in her pocket or kept in an easy to reach place. It would have alerted my Mom and Aunts even if she couldn’t get a hold of the 9-1-1 system. I love the idea of the Rapid SOS+.
The app for the single plan is a small fee of $2.99 a month and the family plan is $4.99 a month. They do have options for annual plans with x amount of days free depending on the way you pay. You can go read about their plans on their subscription page.
This app works for IOS and Android. With all of the information that is on their website, you will want to stop over and visit them to read all of their information. They are informative and they also have more reviews from people that have used their service.
