Potentially Carcinogenic Foods We Need to Beware of

0

The cancer rates are on the rise in the United States, and there are so many reasons responsible for the various malignancies that it’s a very alarming situation. Therefore, to be aware of the foods that can potentially be lethal due to their carcinogenic associations is the very least we can do to save both ourselves and our children.

Hot Dogs

Among various other data published by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), they specifically termed hot dogs as being carcinogenic to human beings, since they are associated with increasing the risks of developing colorectal cancer by as much as 18%.

Sausages

Sausages are part of the problem and a major reason behind the increasing rate of colorectal cancers in not just the United States, but pretty much all over the world.

According to the IARC, just 50 grams of sausage consumption every day is sufficient to increase the risks of cancer significantly. Given how many sausages most of us are used to eating, it might be time to stop altogether.

Ham, Salami, Pastrami, etc.

Other examples of processed meat with high carcinogenic properties that come from mammals include ham, salami, pastrami, beef jerky, corned beef, pepperoni, etc.

Not only have all of them been found to cause cancers of various kind, but the high sodium content also makes us susceptible to hypertension, premature aging, puffy skin, obesity, etc.

Alcohol

Excess, regular and long-term consumption of alcohol can lead to susceptibility to hepatitis, liver cirrhosis and liver cancer. If you or anyone you know has been unfortunate enough to be the victim of liver cancer due to alcoholism, or for any other reason, alternative liver cancer treatment in Mexico could have the cure you are looking for. Traditional treatments are especially ineffective in the advanced stages, so it’s worth a shot in such cases.

Red, Processed Meat is the Main Problem

As there is no possible agenda to promote veganism by the IARC, it is quite evident that red meat from mammals such as cows and pigs is carcinogenic in general, but it becomes a lot more so when it is processed.

What Exactly is Processed Meat?

By definition, processed meat is any kind of animal meat that has been salted, cured, smoked, fermented, preserved or enhanced in any way. This essentially makes it very difficult to eat meat without increasing once’s chances of developing some kind of cancer.

Eating organic may reduce the chances of developing certain types of cancers, but there is no guarantee of that either unfortunately.

Practically, there is no sure way to know where the meat is actually coming from and whether or not it is unprocessed. Then again, unprocessed meat could also pose a set of health issues all on their own, since preservation would become a serious problem.

If some of your favorite food items were on the list, then you are not the only one disappointed! Nevertheless, moderation is the key here if complete avoidance doesn’t seem feasible.
