Salute the Red, White and Blue Burger

Memorial Day marks the beginning of American pride celebrations and summer grilling season, and now that it’s in our rearview mirror, July 4th will be here before you know it. And that means burger time!

You can help your cookout guests celebrate America’s birthday with the big flavors of this Red, White and Blue Burger made with lean ground beef, bleu cheese and Bloody Mary mix. To make this burger even more memorable than the fireworks, John Enright, executive chef at Laura’s Lean Beef, has 4 simple – and likely unknown – tips to raise the burger bar:

  1. Gently blend seasoning – though avoid too much salt – into the meat and try not to over work the beef. No one likes a mushy burger!
  2. The burger patty should be thick – ½ inch or more – to indulge in a burger’s full, juicy flavor. Anything thinner just delivers a crusted exterior.
  3. Use the 3-4 point method – 3 minutes on each side, flipping a total of 4 times. Grill until your burger’s interior temperature is 145 degrees.
  4. Choose an infrared gas grill for even grilling and temperature control.
