5 ways you can make the most of your day


Do you find yourself strapped for time? Not finding enough time to finish a project, or seeing your friend, or family? Or do you just feel like you could be getting more out of your day? You are not the only one. In fact, a lot of people feel just that. That’s why the rules of making use of your time or well known and applied amongst the most successful people in the world. Just read any of the many CEO motivational quotes available out there. They all lament on how you should beat the sun to the start of every day.  The reason why is because the earlier you get up, the more hours you add to your day, and so you get to do more and accomplish more. Yet there are other ways to make the most of your day, and took full advantage of it, besides just waking up early. If you’re struggling to fully utilize your day to its full potential, then this article is the right one for you, because here are 5 ways you can make the most of your day.

#5- Wake Up Early

Seeing as to how I’ve already mentioned this, it would be best to start with it and get it out of the way. Waking up early is the best way to make the most of your day. Not only do you add extra hours to the clock, but also you get to make use of the sunrise. A lot of businesspeople, CEOs, marketing execs, and overall successful people lament how a key to their success if waking up early and starting their day right. Waking up early also has a positive effect on the mind and body. Studies show that people who wake up early tend to have positive moods throughout the day than people who wake up later in the day. Don’t be put off by the idea of waking up early. As long as your body gets the proper amount of sleep, then you should be fine. That’s another thing. Make sure you get the right amount of sleep, and not stay up late but wake up early. Anywhere between 6-8 hours is a good amount of sleep that you should have every night.

#4- Exercise and Working Out

Exercising and working out should be a daily activity. Finding and dedicating an hour out of the day to exercise and fitness is a must in making the most of your day. A common misconception around working is that people tend to think of it as a leisure activity when it actually isn’t. Working out is a must and a necessity. Your body and mind need those 60 to 90 minutes of activity and work. Or else you will feel tired and fatigued. Try to find an appropriate time in your day to get at least an hour of uninterrupted physical activity. A good time to work out would be early in the day, but if that’s not possible, try doing so after work, but leave time for dinner and enough time after. That way you’re not rushed, you have enough time to rest before and after your workout, and you get to bedtime the good type of exhaustion, thus giving you a proper night’s sleep.

#3- Spend Some Time Outside

If you are like everyone else, you probably spend most of your day inside an office, or indoor. And while your job forces such rigid conditions on you, your free time does not. This is why, you should look to spend some time outside, under the sun or the moon, taking the fresh air. A good way to do this is to opt for walking instead of commuting via taxis or subways. But you can also spend an hour of your leisure time at the park, or simply go for a walk. You can also combine this method with the previous and exercise in the outside. Whatever you decide to do, the point is to experience the great outdoors. Seeing the world from the inside, instead of being trapped indoors looking out.

#2- Plan Out Your Day

You probably get to a point in your day, where you’ve run of errands or tasks, and find yourself sitting on your couch with nothing to do. Suddenly, the next thing you know is that one hour of free time could turn into a whole afternoon. A good way to plan for such a contingency is to plan out your whole day. Allocate time slots to the activities that you know will occupy you during that time of the day. If you have a job that requires you to be there during a specific time frame, then plan around it, adding time for relaxation and exercise either before or after. Planning out your day or even your week is a good way to know to make use of your time and your day. When you do so, then you know how you can go about your day, and what times will require the most effort from you, and what times will not.

#1- Make Every Minute Count

Finally, make sure you make every minute count. Don’t let a second go by where you feel like you could be doing something productive with it but you aren’t. Try to fill out your day with as many activities as you can. But try to balance them out between fun stuff, educational content, and work-related activities. If you do that, then you’re bound to have a long, and productive day, that ends with you going to bed tired, fulfilled, and satisfied.
