Covid has had a significant impact on the way we live, especially when to our workouts. With so many people turning to home-workout over lockdown, more and more gym goes are committing to keeping their gym home-based post-covid.

In fact, 90% of fitness enthusiasts revealed they felt their home-workouts were just as effective as going to the public gym.

If you’re one of these workout warriors looking to keep your workouts home-based, you’ll need a few things to keep your workouts sustainable. Lucky for you, we’ve got the list of home gym essentials you need to make it work!

Follow along with this gym equipment checklist to build the perfect garage gym for your needs.

Cardio

First things first, every good home gym needs a cardio machine or two to succeed. Whether you use these machines to warm up your body for weights or tally up the miles to shed fat, a good cardio machine goes a long way.

To save yourself space and money on your home gym, consider choosing one or two cardio machines that fit in well with your goals and desirable activities. Some great cardio machine options include:

  • Treadmill
  • Eliptacle
  • Stairclimber
  • Rowing machine
  • Stationary bike

If you’re looking to save money on these large ticket items, consider choosing used gym exercise equipment. These machines are just as effective at a fraction of the cost which may make it easier to select the model and type of cardio equipment you love!

Strength Training

Next up is strength training. To truly build muscle and shed fat, you’ll need a variety of strength training mechanisms to tone and tighten your muscles.

To save space, we suggest skipping the bulky weight machines in favor of free weights and multifunctional setups.

The basics to include are:

  • Dumbells
  • Barbells
  • Kettlebells
  • Resistance bands
  • Weight plates

Once you’ve selected your weight training essentials, you’ll need a few items to ensure your routine is safe and smart.

Safety

The final piece of your fitness equipment is for your safety. You’ll need items that make your weights functional without putting your health or body in jeopardy.

For example, to make your free weights more versatile, a bench can be a comfortable and realistic addition to your garage gym. To save on space, consider picking up an adjustable bench for both lying and seated exercises.

Other gym essentials may include a mirror to check your form and shock-absorbing flooring to protect your weights and your home in the event of a dropped barbell.

And of course, if you plan on using your barbell for functional exercises such as squats or chest press, you’ll need a barbell rack to ensure you don’t get stuck in a dangerous position.

Your Home Gym Essentials

Now that you know the home gym essentials you need to transform your space into a workout haven, there’s no reason to delay. Become a smart homeowner and boost your home value and personal fitness with this gym equipment checklist.

I was always trying to live a healthy life but there are a lot of different products that are harmful for the health and I decided that https://wayofleaf.com/blog/things-to-do-while-stoned will be the best resource in order to check some updates and ways of comfortable use.

I would love to one day have a home gym, but currently, I live in a London flat (apartment) with minimal space. Before the pandemic, I had some old adjustable dumbbells that go up to about 10 kg (22 lbs) and then I bought a 20kg kettlebell from Amazon – and you know what… it isn’t much but you can get a decent workout from this. I do lots of supersets as well as lots of squeezing at the contraction – I feel like I am making some gains with minimal and relatively light equipment.
