Skylanders Giants

So I just got my hands on Skylanders Giants! I have played Skylanders in the past when it first came out so I was very excited about trying it again. This game brings a whole new aspect to gaming. You don’t just select your character and the game begins, no you actually use little figurine and place it on this platform called the Portal of Power. After you place them on the Portal of Power they actually become a character in the game. Skylanders Giants is for all ages. I found it to be a fun, and an interesting experience. Way different than any games I’ve played in the past. So the characters you get with this game is Cynder, Jet-Vac, and Tree Rex (my favorite).

Now I actually have the Skylanders Giants Starter Pack, which comes with the Portal of Power, three Skylander figurines, trading cards, a poster, some stickers, and of course the game. The price for the game the starter pack is very low considering everything that comes with it! Now understand, you do use the regular controller to play the game the figurines are simply your choice of character. After starting the game I found the graphics to be what is to be expected, excellent. The story line is really fun, and the game reminds me of an action RPG (role playing game) with the level base. So you can upgrade your character to get new abilities like a Jetpack. I do recommend exploring, don’t just run through the maps because there’s a lot of little areas like caves that you can find treasures in. While playing I did find that there are curtain areas that certain characters can go through which I thought was a pretty cool idea to incorporate into a game. Know, that when you use a character everything you do saves on the character. So you can actually take that figurine somewhere else and play with him on someone elses console, cool right? Well I spent hours playing this game, and with only having the three figurines of a large group of the figurines I was more than satisfied. The graphics, game play, and story kept the game interesting and I wouldn’t mind picking up a few more characters to try them out when I’m done with the ones I have. This would be a great game for any age, and an even highly recommended family game.

Heh, this takes me back to when I was a kid. When I have kids someday I’ll probably end up joining in on some action figure ACTION!
