How to Decorate Your Bathroom Properly

2

When waking up, the first thing you do, aside from opening your eyes, of course, is to stand up and go to the bathroom. Aside from your bedroom, you can also consider the bathroom as your own personal sanctuary. Your bathroom is where you take a bath, shave, and do all your personal hygiene routines. Due to it being such a private space, many of us are guilty of even spending a good five minutes of daydreaming in our bathrooms.

With that said, your bathroom should be a place that’s welcoming. If you have a family, then it’s most likely you’ll be sharing your private space with them. You’ll also have to factor in those facts to get the bathroom of your dreams.

Whether you’re up for remodeling or building a whole new bath, getting a good-looking, personally awe-inspiring bathroom isn’t impossible. To help you with that, here are some tips on how to decorate your bathroom properly.

Taking Advantage of Lights

Speaking of lights, one of the ways of making your bathroom look and feel big is through the use of lights. Not getting enough light inside your bathroom can make it feel cramped and uninviting. Use light bulbs that give out soft white light. If your bath has windows that lead outside, try leaving it a bit open to let in natural light to illuminate the room.

Mirrors

Another thing you can try out is to use mirrors. Using mirrors can make your bathroom look big. Try to position your mirrors properly to reflect the mirror’s light directly. Proper positioning can add angles in the mirror, giving it a broad and “opened up” effect. It also adds utility as a mirror is a must in every bathroom.

To further the look of your bathroom, why not use both light and mirror to get that wide and appealing bath? LED bathroom mirrors are just that. These special mirrors have LED lights in them, making your bathroom look brighter and wider.

Making It Feel Big

Most bathrooms tend to be the smallest rooms in a house. Although they’re small, bathrooms should have functional spaces as a lot of work is done in these rooms. If you’re limited to your space, then don’t fret. There are ways to help you make your bathroom feel big. Comfort is, of course, of utmost importance when it comes to bathrooms.

To make your bathrooms feel big, consider getting an all-white bathroom. White never goes out of style when it comes to bathrooms. As white reflects light better, you’re sure to make your personal space a bit bigger. If you don’t fancy white, then you can also make sure to line up the same tiles properly and install them up to the ceiling. By doing these, you remove any horizontal lines that’ll divide your wall. It’ll give you an impression that your ceiling is higher.

Shelves and Cabinets

You can go the DIY route when installing shelves and cabinets in your bathroom. Try to place them above eye level so they’ll open up space. Also, it’s a good tip to put everything inside in these cabinets. Tidying up the bathroom can make it look cleaner and safer as well. Be careful when using shelves and cabinets. Even if they’re floating cabinets, using too much can make the bathroom feel crowded.

Safety Features

Aside from your bathroom looking good, you should also prioritize safety as well. As mentioned above, keep your bathroom nice and tidy. Anything that’s out of place in your bathroom can potentially get you in danger. Take, for example, a bar of soap that’s just lying around. Soap can make surfaces slippery.

With safety features, you can install anti-slip mats over your bathroom floor. These mats can make your floor slippery, even if it’s wet. Just make sure to clean underneath these mats as grime can accumulate.

If you have seniors at home with you, it’s also good to install handlebars beside your toilet. These bars can help them when they’re sitting down and getting up from it. Additionally, you can also put in corner guards. These small, usually rubber-made pieces can prevent sharp edges from badly injuring someone should they hit a corner.

Conclusion

A bathroom is a private space where we can feel safe to do our personal routines. Getting your bathroom to look good can be difficult, but you’re one step closer to that goal with the tips mentioned above.
