• Patient, caring, and kind personality.

Come on! Who loves a person who doesn’t have the minimum amount of tolerance?

NO ONE EXACTLY!!!!

“Patience is a virtue.” You must have that level of tolerance to withstand your students’ notorious behavior. Literally, everyone loves that guy who knows how to care for and love their students. 

Being caring I mean to say if you need to know the fundamental needs of your students like, “Where they are having problems?”, “Why they can’t concentrate?”, “What will make them a good student?”

Now those who are reading this article, PLEASE know your students’ desires and needs. Don’t be someone who just delivers a lecture and gives tons of homework without knowing their students’ problems. 

Build such a personality that they’ll think of you as their role-model!!

• Dedication of Teaching.

Okay, so being honest with you. If you are not dedicated to what you are doing then this profession is not for you!

Just going to the whiteboard and solving a few problems will not make you a better teacher. It’ll only show that you are a mere puppet of the school who just comes and goes, delivering a bunch of lectures.

There was a teacher of mine in school who used to do this all the time. He didn’t look for the needs of his students and was not at all dedicated to teaching. All he did was just open the textbook and copied a few things down on the board.

And I just slept all the time during his lectures. 

Come on! Who wants such teachers who’ll not be interesting and dedicated!!

• Engaging Your Students in Learning.

Let me be clear with you now! This can be quite a challenging job for you but it’s not impossible. All you need to do is get your pupil to listen to you. The moment you do that most of the hard work is already done.

Now, the million-dollar question!!

“HOW CAN I MAKE MY STUDENTS LISTEN TO ME?”

Be friendly but not their friend!!!

Give them meaningful work, tell me interesting facts about the world like, “Do you know why the sky is blue?”, “Did you know Alexander The Great never lost a single battle in his entire life?”. All these sorts of engaging conversations will drag your students towards you and they will follow your instructions like Gospel!!

What Mistakes Do Teachers Make That Prevents Them Becoming Better?

One of the most common errors that you guys make is not being consistent with your action plans. And this is a real issue that prevents you from becoming better!!

Come on! We are all humans and we can’t always be consistent all the time, right?

But in this case, it’s the opposite!

I’m not saying that you’ll be a robotic machine or whatever, and be consistent all the time!

It’s fine if you stay relaxed once in a while. But most of the time you really have to be consistent with what you are doing.

I had encountered few teachers during my school days. They were not at all consistent with their work plans. If they didn’t have the mood to teach, they would ask one of the students to read the whole chapter, and then without explaining the context they would provide handouts as homework.

PLEASE DON’T BE LIKE THIS!!!!!

Be consistent with your plans and take responsibility like the leader of a pack!
