Cornhole – All you need to know to win

1

We are living in an era where virtual games have seamlessly proved their dominance over traditional outdoor games that once upon a time every child looked forward to playing. While playing outdoors had its own fun, it also helped in getting to know others and have fun together. So, promoting outdoors games instead of video games seems to be the right way to go to make the children realize the beauty and fun of playing these games. The cornhole game is one such fun-filled game that one must definitely try playing. The game does not exclude any age group from playing it. It involves winning by scoring more points than one’s opponent,  by throwing bags into a cornhole board.

Everything one needs to know to win this game:

  1. All one needs to play the game:
One needs two cornhole boards, eight cornhole bags of different colors or designs and a measuring device such as a tape.
  2. Keeping the area clean:
Since it is an outdoor game, it is necessary to make sure that the area where one is playing the game is clean and tidy and does not contain any form of dirt or dust.
  3. Placing the boards:
The standard rule dictates the players to keep the two boards 27 feet apart from each other. Now, if one is really serious about the game, he can use a measuring tape to measure the distance accurately and ensure that the rules are followed.
  4. Knowing the point system:
At the end of each round, all the bags that land on the board are worth one point each, the bags outside the board do not award any points, the bags that make it into the cornhole are worth three points. The game ends when a player scores twenty-one points on the board. Generally, the person who wins the coin toss starts the game.
  5. Playing alone:
While the game can be played either with two players or four players, one can also simply play the game on his own without any other person. One simply has to act as the other player and go to the other board and play his other turn. This way one can have fun on his own in the outdoors by competing with himself.

While we indulge in all sorts of indoor games on our smart devices only, we have lost the true essence of playing a game in its truest definition. It has affected our lives at various levels and taking charge of a change is what one needs to do. Starting to play real games can be started by playing a game of cornhole which is a fun game and which involves all age groups, family and friends. Cornhole indulges in making you a better and more competitive player with a simple rule of throwing a bag at the right location. The simplicity of the game is what makes it fun to play and enjoy.

I like these type of articles. My friend Lavonna Partin http://jobscachevalley.com/author/lavonna-partin/ likes them too. Knowledge to win is gold knowledge. And I agree that the simplicity of the game is what makes it fun to play and enjoy.
