Frances Victory book!

Frances was inspired to write this workbook because she didn’t believe all parents of children with special needs could connect with the available resources that focused on improving their well-being.  A lot of the books were written in the perspective of the mother, had a religious tone, or provided helpful tips to work with their child. What about the dads or someone who did not believe in religion? Parents need a resource to help them become physically, mentally, and emotionally stronger. Not read about someone else’s journey. They need a tool to create a concrete and personalized plan so that they could develop their own journey.

This interactive and empowering workbook will help parents:

  1. Understand the importance of taking care of their mind and body. Choose the best method of self-care, such as developing a personalized mantra, so that he or she feels strong enough to handle any challenges along their journey.
  2. Examine past successes/defeats and understand the lessons learned so they can be transformed into someone new.
  3. Develop a detailed and realistic plan to achieve their personal goals. Help them realize that they can achieve anything they put their mind to.
  4. Identify the people who have brought any positivity or negativity into their life. Decide how to continue their relationship with this person.
  5. Learn things about themselves that they may not have even realized.
  6. Become the best person, parent and advocate for their child.

Journey to Finding the New You: A Self-Help Book for Parents of Children with Special Needs that incudes empathetic examples, writing exercises, and actionable suggestions. It is a resource to help mothers and fathers keep track of their thoughts and ideas, so they can ultimately create their own journey. The book is available in Spanish and English. It can be purchased on www.drvictorycoaching.com.

Frances Victory, Ph.D., C.P.C., is a certified life coach and a developmental psychologist. In creating this workbook, she has drawn on her years of experience teaching college students, working with children with autism as well as the parents of children with special needs.

I found lindysnyc completely by accident. Was browsing through Google Maps planning my NYC trip, and their name popped up. I checked the site and immediately liked how straight to the point it is — no gimmicks, just the essentials. Their story caught my attention too. Glad I visited in person — you really get that proper New York atmosphere.
