How to Fit and Remove Car Stickers without Breaking a Sweat

5

Car stickers are one of the simplest ways of jazzing up your vehicle with a dash of humor, your brand of philosophy, or even a business promotion message. Easy to design and print and affordable, they are popular with small businesses trying to raise brand awareness and drive footfalls. It may look easy; however, unless you know the correct technique, it can be easy to mess up the process of fixing or removing a car decal.

How to Affix a Car Sticker?

Decide where you will fix the decal: You have many choices right from the bumper to the front and rear windscreen, windows, or even the interior of the car. If you are unsure how it will look, stick the decal with electrical tape and step back to see if you like it. Repeat till you are happy with the result, and then fix the sticker.

Clean the surface thoroughly: Identify the surface on which, you want to fix the sticker. Clean it thoroughly first with soap and water and then with rubbing alcohol to ensure it is squeaky clean. If there is any dirt or oily residue, the sticker will not adhere well, pick up dirt, and peel off soon. Glass cleaning products are not recommended as many of them leave behind invisible residues that don’t permit proper adhesion.

Peel away the backing paper carefully: It is important to carefully peel away the backing paper from the car decals without touching the sticky back because any grime or dirt deposited on it will affect the adhesion.

Position the sticker accurately: After placing one side of the decal, you should smooth the rest of it out. Be sure to remove only a part of the backing paper and keep pulling more of it off as you apply the sticker. Remove any bubbles and trim the edges to make them look neat.

How to Remove Car Stickers?

Clean the sticker and its surrounding area: Use soapy water and a cloth to clean the area around the sticker so that no grime is left behind after you remove it. According to Tips Bulletin, this makes the adhesive remover more effective.

Warm the sticker gently: Rather than trying to pull off the sticker causing it to tear, you should apply heat gently with a hairdryer. It will loosen the adhesive allowing you to remove it easily. If you are using a heat gun, use it carefully as you can damage the paint. Do not use any sharp things to scrape off the sticker because you can scratch the paint.

Remove the residual glue: You should use rubbing alcohol or any commercial glue residue remover to clean the area where the sticker had been fixed. Dab the product on the surface, let it stand for a minute, and rub it off gently. Clean the area afterward with a soapy solution and apply polish to make it gleam again.

Conclusion

While car stickers are a very affordable way of customizing your vehicle, you should follow the proper procedure for applying and removing it. Not only do you make your task easier but also you prevent any damage to the paintwork.

My friend lives in a region where the weather changes very often and constantly changing tires from winter to summer is absolutely not profitable and not convenient. I decided to help him with this problem. I found this site https://tireplanet.ca/all-weather-tires where all weather tires are sold and ordered a pre-bid for these tires at a friend’s house. The tires were delivered quickly and a nice bonus was the help in installing them! Now a friend goes and does not bother about the fact that you often need to buy rubber on the car!
