6 Ways to Feel Better When You Get Stressed

2

The more people and interests you have fighting for your attention, the harder it is to balance all of your efforts — and that’s when everything is going well and smoothly. When one of those areas is experiencing tension, you are up for a promotion, or you don’t get enough rest, you are bound to start to feel stressed.

Understanding Stress

To a degree, stress is inevitable, and it isn’t always a bad thing. Stress can make your heart beat faster and your muscles tighten up. In small amounts, it helps you focus. However, it doesn’t take much to tip the scales into a more problematic scenario where you start to get irritable, feel tired, experience insomnia, have digestive upset, or become nervous. That’s when you need to take action. Making a few small changes in different areas of your life can help you feel rejuvenated.

Start Small

Start by looking at what is stressing you out. Sometimes, the best thing to do is buckle down and resolve that issue. For instance, getting stressed out that you have a big project due at work is normal. While you don’t want it to impact your health, you are going to feel better as soon as you finish your work. Keep in mind that to get to this place you may need to prioritize or delegate.

Exercise and Move More

Next, make sure you are taking the time to move your body. Not only will exercising help you get out of your head and into your body or the present, but movement also releases endorphins that can help make you feel more relaxed or even happy. You can see the impact of exercise on your mental health in as little as 30 minutes of exercise; you don’t even have to go hard. The average fitness class, walk around the neighborhood, or morning yoga session is perfect.

Rest When You Feel Tired

Also, rest when you feel tired. Sometimes feeling stressed is a sign that you need to take a break. Go on a coffee run, read a book, take a bath, go for a walk, play with your dog, call a friend, or watch TV. There are no wrong answers. Just give your mind some time to focus on something other than what is stressing you out.

Take Your Vitamins

You can get a natural and healthy energy boost by incorporating vitamins into your daily routine. It is not unusual for a nutritional deficiency to disturb your mood or make it difficult to concentrate. You may not be technically deficient and otherwise quite healthy, but you could feel better when you take a daily multivitamin.

Declutter and Organize

Take the time to declutter and organize your space as well. When your space is messy, it can be hard to think straight. You don’t need to have everything neat, but if you make sure that your space is presentable at all times, you may feel less overwhelmed.

Explore a Passion

Also, explore your passions. When you get busy with work, kids, significant others, family, pets, and friends, it is easy to feel like you are losing your identity. Make an effort to explore your passions in a real way. For instance, if you have a passion for health and fitness, dedicate some of your time to regular physical activity as well as supplementing your income by selling products like vitamins and supplements. Not only can you help others feel better, but you can earn extra money! Check out this video on how to sell Amway products to learn more.

Life with Less Stress

The world today is very fast-paced. Between work or school and relationships, it can be difficult to make sure that each area of your life gets the attention it deserves. Take the time you need to finish tasks, exercise regularly and rest when tired. You may also find that you will feel better if you declutter, start taking a multivitamin and explore a passion.
