Why Your Kids Should Wear Computer Glasses

1

Today children are glued to their electronic devices more than ever before. Whether your kids are always sitting in front of their computer screens for hours playing their favorite video games or spending a lot of time on tablets or smartphone during school or free time, these activities have a huge impact on their eyesight.  These digital devices emit blue light which can impair vision for a long term basis and result in digital eye strain, headaches, and a lack of deep sleep in children. At the worst, exposure to blue light over time can lead to damaged retinal cells and the early onset of macular degeneration, which can lead to vision loss.

However, before getting too worried, let’s try to understand what blue light exactly is. High-energy visible (HEV) is commonly called blue light and makes up approximately one third of all visible light and is actually what makes the sky blue. The main source of blue light is sunlight. However, the screens of our computers, tablets, smartphones and other digital devices emit a prominent amount of blue light. The amount per say, isn’t enough to cause any damage, but the amount of time spent in front of screens as well as the proximity to our eyes is what may have a negative effect on our eye sight.

Of course, we cannot stop the digital age we are living in and force our kids to stay away from technology and digital devices – that would be impossible! However, protecting your child’s vision and health is a genuine concern and you will be more than happy to know that a solution to this blue light issue already exists! Blue light blocking glasses.

Also known as computer glasses, these eyeglasses are, as the name suggests, available for the sole purpose of blocking blue light from digital screens such as computers. These are suitable even if your kids don’t require any vision correction. However, if your children already have visual impairments, you can add the blue light blocking lens coating when buying new prescription kids eyeglasses.

Many eyewear e-tailers are stepping up to take action in order to reduce the harmful effects of the blue light on our kids’ eyes. One of these eyewear e-tailers is SmarytBuyGlasses which aims to resolve the issue with its scientifically tested blue light lenses.

For children, their vision is very important, so it is better to use glasses or reduce their arrival at the computer. I would recommend you order a glass wall at https://www.glassstructureslimited.com/glass-wall/ where your children can draw and spend time with benefit.
