Eating well is a priority for my family, and oftentimes our busy schedule requires eating on the go. Let’s face it, fast food gained its popularity because it’s inexpensive, convenient and tastes good.
Making the right choices isn’t always easy. McDonald’s has taken steps to offer customers balanced food choices. For myself, I love salad, and the McDonald’s Premium Bacon Ranch Salad with Crispy Chicken has only 390 calories. Instead of pop I order bottled water, and low fat salad dressing. Keeping my meal balanced and my taste buds satisfied.
Teaching my kiddos to make the right choices hasn’t always been easy. I mean what kid doesn’t want a burger, fries and shake? However, when McDonald’s added Hamburger with Apple Slices and a 1% low fat milk Jug or a Hamburger with Apple Slices and Minute Maid Apple Juice Box to their Happy Meals, my kids took right to them. In fact, I even ordered them for myself from time to time. McDonald’s prides itself on using white meat chicken breast in their Chicken McNuggets, 100% beef in their burgers and real fruit in their McCafe Smoothies, Fruit & Maple Oatmeal, Fruit ‘N Yogurt Parfaits and Happy Meals.
In fact, McDonald’s uses real eggs and even has their own Chef. McDonald’s also partners with farmers, suppliers, culinary experts in order to innovate new products.
