2025 Ford Escape: The Technology That Keeps You Safe

0

When you think about the Ford brand, you may think about the power of their trucks. You might consider the smaller vehicles that are cost-effective and dependable. For instance, maybe you’re targeting the Ford Escape if you feel like it is time for a new vehicle for yourself and your family. The Escape is considered to be a crossover SUV.

To get a Ford, Ennis, TX residents, is not such a difficult task. There are dealerships you can go to where you can get a favorable deal virtually any time of the year.

Maybe if you’re looking at an option like the Escape, though, you have more than just the overall cost and its performance in mind. Perhaps you have some young children in the family, so you’re also focused on the safety features that come with this model.

You will be pleased to know that the safety features that come with the Ford Escape are more than generous. Let us look at some of the best ones right now.

The Tire Pressure Monitoring System

Before we start talking about some of the safety features that come standard with the Escape, we should mention that there are some additional ones that don’t come standard but that you can special order if you are so inclined. That does drive the price up somewhat, but these features are still at least worth considering if you are focused primarily on making your time on the road as safe as possible.

The latest edition of the Ford Escape comes with a tire pressure monitoring system standard. It lets you know if the pressure of any of your tires has dropped to a level where you need to refill it.

This is more useful than you might imagine. If the pressure drops to an unacceptable level on one or more of your tires, that increases the chances of a blowout quite a bit. That’s probably not what you want when you’re out on some deserted stretch of highway, so you will be glad to have this feature.

The SOS Post-Crash Alert System

There are reckless motorists all over the road. Even if you are a very safe driver, that might not prevent you from getting in an accident if you happen to run into someone who’s speeding or driving drunk.

If the worst-case scenario happens, and you get in a crash, the Ford Escape now comes with a standard SOS system. It activates your hazard lights and horn after an accident, alerting first responders. If you get in a wreck in the rain or fog, this can attract help much faster than what otherwise might have been the case.

The Safety Canopy System

The Safety Canopy System is something Ford has been working on for a while, and now, you can have it standard in your new Escape. It is a new type of side impact protection.

It protects all three rows of seats that come with the Escape. If you are driving through an intersection, and another vehicle comes along and hits you broadside, that’s called a T-bone collision. The Safety Canopy makes it unlikely anyone will suffer severe injuries.

Wall-to-Wall Airbags

You will also find plenty of airbags in the Ford Escape that can keep both the driver and front-seat passenger safe if there is ever an accident. The vehicle comes with dual-stage front-passenger and driver airbags. You also get one at the knee level of the driver, and there are front seat-mounted side impact ones as well.

Ford’s Co-Pilot 360 System

The Ford Co-Pilot 360 system is perhaps what’s best about the Escape if you’re primarily concerned with safety. This is a suite of features you get on top of the ones we already mentioned. They all come standard as well.

This suite includes a rearview camera that gives you a crystal-clear image of what’s behind you. You also get automatic high-beam headlights that can cut through the densest fog, mist, rain, or snow.

You get an auditory alert if there is ever a vehicle in your blind spot, just in case you forget to glance over and try an unsafe lane switch. The rear cross-traffic braking is also useful if you ever start backing up without carefully checking what’s around you. This can save a passing biker or family dog that suddenly decides it’s a good idea to dash behind your vehicle when you’re starting to back up.

Extra Safety Features

You can custom-order a Ford Escape that comes with some extra safety features if you are so inclined. You might consider getting adaptive cruise control, for instance.

If you put it on when you’re out on the highway, it will automatically adjust your speed when other vehicles start appearing around you. You will stay back at a safe distance without needing to exert any energy at all.

You can get evasive steering assist. This lets you avoid collisions with automatic steering input if an obstacle appears in the road suddenly, and you can’t swerve fast enough to avoid it on your own.

Maybe you would prefer to get rear parking sensors. These sound an alert if something appears behind you when you’re backing up. The combination of the automatic braking and rear parking sensors mean you will be safer than ever when backing out of your driveway or in your neighborhood grocery store’s parking lot.

The head-up display is also worth considering. Other car companies have come up with something similar, but Ford’s is one of the better ones around.

The vehicle projects vital information onto the windshield as you are driving. It’s in your field of vision, but it’s not a distraction. This way, you can tell how fast you’re going and avoid speeding on the highway without having to glance down at the speedometer.

With all these safety features, you should feel very comfortable and secure in an Escape. It’s no wonder the latest models have sold so briskly and that this vehicle has many rave reviews online.
