Roses That Last a Year: Preserved Roses and How the Tradition of Giving Flowers Started

2

Do you know why people give flowers to their loved ones? In our society today, we usually see people give flowers as a way to communicate their feelings. Whether it is to express your love or gratitude to someone, flowers can be given to anyone at any time. You can gift any kind of flower, but roses appear to be the most popular ones. There are fresh roses that last for days or weeks and there are also preserved roses that last a year. Regardless of the flower, we can’t deny that this practice has such a wonderful history. With that in mind, let’s take a look at how the practice of giving flowers has changed over the years.

Flowers, according to history, myths, and legends dating back to ancient civilizations (Greece, Rome, China, and Egypt), were an important part of social customs. During these periods, it was through the giving of flowers that a person’s emotions were most easily expressed. In addition, Greek mythology contains a lot of information about specific flowers representing gods and goddesses.

The tradition of giving flowers continued until the Middle Ages, especially among the French and the English. It is believed that the tradition of giving a meaning to different types of flowers began in Europe.

This custom was widely practiced during the Victorian era as well. During this period, expressing feelings using words wasn’t considered appropriate, so as a result, people started showing their feelings by giving bouquets of flowers. The Victorians also had a number of rules for giving flowers. For instance, if someone bought an elegant bouquet of roses from a florist and gave it to the recipient upside down, the recipient was sure to be angry. This is because red roses when gifted upside-down represented anger.

The custom of giving flowers continues today. But giving flowers or bouquets now has different meanings. In addition, people also have the option to gift not just fresh flowers but preserved flowers or roses that last a year.

The reasons for giving flowers has also evolved. Although it may have started out as a way to express love for another person, there are other reasons why people choose to give flowers today. Here are some common reasons and occasions to gift flowers:

  • Wedding
  • Funeral
  • Birthday
  • Anniversary
  • Get well soon flowers
  • Sympathy flowers

Just like the Victorians, people today have also attached different meanings to flowers. Red roses, for instance, symbolizes deep love, while white roses mean pure love; yellow roses can mean dejection. Flower bouquets can be cheap or expensive depending on the quality of flower you choose, so it’s important that you do your research before spending money. One of the most popular choices for bouquets nowadays are preserved roses. They can be a little pricey but considering that these are roses that last a year, this means you’ll be able to enjoy them longer.

Preserved Roses

People have been giving flowers to one another for hundreds of years. There’s not a simpler and more natural way to brighten someone’s day than with colorful, and sweet-smelling blooms.

But what if it’s possible to get a gorgeous bouquet or floral arrangement that looks remains fresh and beautiful for months or until a year, doesn’t require maintenance and is good for the environment? This is exactly what you can get with preserved roses.

Six reasons why roses that last a year make the perfect gift:

  • They’re 100% Natural

While most people often confuse them with artificial flowers, preserved roses are actually 100% natural. But how do they stay perfect for so long? This is because all the water and nutrients in the flower were replaced with a natural formula that continues to feed it and keep it fresh for up to a year.

  • They’re Practical

Fresh flowers, especially roses, a lot of care and attention, and they can be quite delicate. Preserved roses that last a year, on the other hand, do not require any maintenance. Because they already receive all the nutrients they need from the liquid inside, they don’t need to be watered regularly, or placed in proper lighting, or given special care. Even without maintenance, or even if you just leave them alone, your preserved roses will still look fresh all year long. This is ideal for those who want to preserve the flower bouquets but don’t have time to maintain them.

  • They’re Eco-friendly

Fresh bouquets of flowers are lovely to look at, especially when you use them to decorate your home. But replacing flowers every few days is extremely wasteful and is not eco-friendly. So instead of picking fresh flowers that will just die in a couple of days, opt for preserved roses that last a year. Most companies that sell preserved roses harvest their roses from ethical farms dedicated to helping keep our planet safe.

  • They Last Long

Preserved roses are long-lasting; they can keep their perfect texture, beauty, and scent for up to a year. Some roses can even be preserved for much longer than that. Apart from buying them for a loved one or to decorate your home, people also choose preserved roses for special occasions such as weddings, birthday parties, and more. These roses can be kept as a beautiful remembrance to the occasion.

  • Cost Effective

Because preserved roses last long, this means they are also very economical. You don’t have to spend money every few days to replace your floral arrangements. In addition, if you’re gifting someone with bouquet of flowers, it makes much more sense to buy roses that last a year rather than roses that wilt and die after a week. The person who received the preserved roses will be able to enjoy them for a year without investing time and money on caring for them.

  • They’re Beautiful

Last but not the least, preserved roses are beautiful in every shape and color available. Floral arrangement companies such as Saaya Rose make sure that you get the best quality preserved roses. These roses are packed in a gorgeous glass dome, reminiscent of something similar to the one in the well-loved animated movie Beauty and the Beast.

I’m tired of this pandemic. I can’t get anything. All via online ordering. And how you just want to go shopping and see the real product. Especially there were problems with flowers. The pictures are more beautiful, but in fact sluggish. This was all until, until I found the website https://www.flowershops.co.uk/. I recommend it!
