Dr. Daniel J. Pierce, is a schizophrenic neuropsychologist and college professor. He is enlisted by the FBI to help on some of their most intricate cases.
During a case of the reappearing of the “date night” killer, a serial killer from 1986, Kate and Daniel are led to a woman named Lacey, who escaped the killer’s but is of little help to them for the most part.
Daniel is a brilliant neuropsychologist who has his own psychological issues. Often hallucinating when seeking answers to a crime.
It is when Daniels’ psychiatrist realizes the puzzles of solving crime are therapeutic to Daniel that he begins to resolve and let Daniel continues to help the FBI solve crimes
