Ore-Ida® Makes Family Night Deliciously Fun #OreIdaDinner

262

As the mom of a picky eater family of 8 and a busy weekday scheduled, I am always looking for quick recipes that will get them all to the dinner table. I get just that quick, easy and delicious response from my Cheesy Hamburger Tater Tot Casserole. In fact even my youngest daughters love to help me create it.

I could almost say that my middle daughter {Aryka, age 8} inspired this recipe version from the previous ones we tried. Some were too dry. So she said, “Mommy, add milk.” Some were not gooey enough. So she decided we needed an entire bag of cheese which she gladly dumps on top of the tots for me every time we make this one together. Some were too plain. So mommy added onions to spice it up just a bit. All of these small changes makes for one rich and creamy casserole that is start to finish in less than 1 hour.

Cheesy Hamburger Tater Tot Casserole

Ingredients:

  • · 2 lbs extra lean ground beef
  • · ½ finely chopped medium yellow onion
  • · 2 cans cream of mushroom soup {10oz}
  • · ½ cup milk
  • · 1 package frozen Ore-Ida® Tater Tots #OreIdaDinner
  • · 2 cups grated cheddar cheese

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 425°F.

2. Brown ground beef in skillet – about half way through cooking process add the finely chopped medium yellow onion and continue cooking until pink is completely gone in the ground beef

3. Drain the ground beef mixture then return to warm skillet

4. Add both cans of cream of mushroom soup and milk to the ground beef mixture and stir until well combined

5. Pour ground beef mixture in the bottom of a 13x9x2-inch casserole dish and spread out evenly.

6. Top with tater tots.

7. Cover with grated cheese.

8. Cover with foil and bake covered 25 minutes.

9. Uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes.

I have made something like this; we made it with crumbled up sausage and eggs, a breakfast casserole. Its better if you scramble the eggs, not cook them all the way, just mostly and of course cook the sausage. We put the eggs in the bottom of the pan, the sausage next, then the tator tots and then the cheese, lots of cheese. I agree with you it needed something, we added onions and red and green peppers. I have not used any soup in the breakfast version, it might be good.

here’s a meaningful comment for you. I despise posts like this cause they don’t appear truthful. I’m not saying you weren’t truthful, i just hope you really took the time to make that dish for this recipe. And to even include your kids in the post is taking it the next level.

This is One of the reasons why it’s hard to find trust worthy content in the net.

Sorry. That’s just how I felt.
