Christmas day started out just like any other Christmas morning. Everyone was happy, laughing, opening gifts and all around excited. It was beautiful seeing all the joy in the house. But somewhere is the mist of all the glorious chaos, I started having pain in my breastbone. Since I’d just had spinal cervical surgery in July, I just assumed it was my plate and screws causing the issue. I went on with my day, and so did the pain. I didn’t let it stop me from enjoying the holiday and time with my family.
Sometimes, as humans this is what we do. We make excuses for our aches and pains. We even us Google as our doctor and determine that we’re dying from the search results, or that it’s nothing and we go on about our business.
In reality, this could cost any one of us our lives. I’m young. And I consider myself pretty healthy. Heart disease doesn’t run in my family. So the last thing on my mind was that I was having a heart attack.
As Christmas night came to an end, my pain had become somewhat worse and I was ready for bed. I now realize just how lucky I was. I could have died in my sleep that night. All because I “assumed” it was something else. When I woke the next day, the pain was about 80% worse. The next day, I was in the emergency room, hooked up too all kinds of machines and being told I was having a heart attack.
Still, in my mind, I thought they were crazy. But, they said my EKG said I was having a heart attack. I guess you can’t argue with that. I’m lucky. Not everyone has a heart attack for 24-hours and lives to tell about it.
Well, as healthy as I “thought” I was, as “young” as I thought I was, I realized it’s time to start taking my health seriously. Especially my heart health. So, with the help of Sears, and their being America’s #1 Fitness retailer, I’ve purchased a few pieces of exercise equipment. And with the help of my dedicated husband, I plan to get my health and HEART in better shape.
Every year, the biggest resolution is, “I’m going to lose weight” Or “I’m going to get healthy this year” That last for about two weeks and then it’s back to the same old routine. We make goals and resolutions we wish to accomplish for the following year. I have been saying for the last few New Years, that I would be taking better care of my health. Every Year comes and goes, and I’ve taken no time to accomplish this resolution. However, 2016 is going to be different. Sears is going to help make sure this year is different. Sears is reaching out to everyone, to make sure you carry out your New Years resolution. Thanks to Sears and their amazing line of fitness equipment, I think I can do it this year. It’s pretty easy to get motivated when you have a heart attack. And “You think it can’t happen to you” Well, it can!
I want to share you some of the equipment that I’ve already ordered or considered ordering from Sears to help get my heart health in great shape this year. Anything that you need for your New Years resolution can be found at Sears. Choose from a wide variety of name brand fitness equipment that makes Sears America’s #1 Fitness retailer. I will wake up much more motivated when I see a Nordic Track Treadmill starring me in the face. After I get a cup of coffee before taking at least 30 minutes out of my day to do some cardio.
