Technology has been growing at an astounding pace. As soon as one model is manufactured, development has come up with its replacement (making it obsolete upon its conception). And, I would be fooling myself if I thought I could keep up with every electronic gadget on the market. Therefore, when I go shopping for electronics, I try to find something that doesn’t cost a fortune, but at the same time, gives me features that fit my needs.
When my old printer went to copy heaven, I was in a panic to find its replacement. I needed something for both business and personal use.
If you walk into any computer section and count how many different printers are on the market, you will know that there are many different ones for different applications. I just want a simple yet professional, high quality, easy to use model that gives me great results..
Well, they all claim to give you great results, so I was looking for features that fits into my today, and my tomorrows.
Epson Artisan 730 houses all the latest features a quality printer should have and at a reasonable price.
Epson Artisan 730 features:
- Rated No1 in photo quality by consumers photographers
- World’s Fastest 4 x 6 inch photo printer 10 seconds
- Epson Connect to print from mobile devices
- Touch panel with 2.5 inch LCD
- Wireless and Ethernet Ready
- Automatic Two-Sided Printing
- It Prints, Copies, and Scans
- Prints CD’s, DVD’s, and Documents with Photo Quality
These features are pretty impressive.
The Epson Artisan 730 was pretty easy to use. If you have worked with other printers, you won’t have any trouble getting to know this one.
The touch screen feature is really neat. It gives you options at your fingertips.
The Wi-Fi connection allows for wireless printing. Thus you can use any wireless unit (i.e. iPhone, TouchPad, or any electronic device that allows you to send an e-mail) in order send photos and documents to your printer. Or if you prefer to use your computer with it, you can hook up the Ethernet cable as well.
And unlike my old Kodak printer the Epson Artisan 730 comes with independent colors, therefore, you only have to change the color cartridge that is low. That’s a savings right there.
It has automatic two sided copying so you can save some trees while you copy.
It also uses an SD Memory Card that plugs in the front. And speaking of the front, it also has a USB port in the front that you can use to charge your camera, phone, or any other device. That’s a cool feature!
So I suppose you are wondering how it prints? Well Photo quality is excellent and very fast. It was much faster that my last printer and the photos look awesome.
Document printing was as you would expect. The better quality paper you use, the better the quality of the printed document.
I do like the feature of making notebook paper with any photo as the background. That’s cool.
Oh and I almost forgot, it has two paper trays so you can have one set up for copy paper and one set up for photo paper and use them both.
All in all I give the Epson Artisan 730 five stars! And not just based solely on it’s quality performance, but because I don’t have to throw out a full cartridge because ONE color is low. Nor does it prevent me from printing if ONE color is low. Which is the experience I’ve had using my old Kodak printer.
You can purchase the Epson Artisan 730 for the reasonable price of $199. And the black ink cartridges averages $19, individual color cartridges average $18
