Prebiotics are defined as substances that promote the growth of beneficial microorganisms in the intestines thereby producing a health benefit. In our diet, prebiotics are typically non-digestible, fiber compounds that pass undigested through the upper part of the gastrointestinal tract and stimulate the growth or activity of the probiotics or “good bacteria” that colonize the large bowel by acting as substrate for them. I don’t take probiotics on a regular basis. However the more I read about them, the more I think I should be. I’ve read that it also helps with acne, which would be good news for my teenage daughter.

Prebiotics and Postbiotics look like they help boost the immune system by helping the flora in the gut and helps keep your digestive system strong.
