How To Juggle Your Career And Your Kids

8

Plenty of women are not ready to give up their careers, simply because they choose to start a family, however, despite it being the 21st Century, it can still seem a struggle to do both or ‘have it all’. Rather than becoming defeated and having to pick between your kids and your career, we’ve put together some tips to help you maintain a stable position where you can enjoy both equally. Check them out below!

Find A Balance

Having kids and running a home can feel like a full-time job in itself so it’s easy to understand why you feel stressed at the prospect of juggling an actual full-time job with mom duties. The best way to find a balance is by separating the two and not allowing them to overlap. When you are at home, you must try to keep your head there and focus on your family, and when you are at work you must try to concentrate on the work at hand. It will not be easy at first but practice makes perfect!

Recognize Discrimination

If you feel as though your boss and your colleagues have stopped taking you so seriously or make jokes about ’mom-brain’ or imply that you are not working as well since you have had children then take note. If you feel as though their comments are unjust and you are being singled out because of your role as a working mom, it is worth contacting HKM attorneys, who specialize in discrimination and can offer some legal advice if you choose to make a formal complaint.

Plan

Planning is everything if you wish to strike a perfect balance. Organizing childcare is the key to your ability to leave your home every day and not be constantly fretting about your little ones. Of course, if they are of school age you can book them into breakfast and after-school clubs and extracurriculars, but if they are younger consider hiring a nanny or mother’s help that you can trust. If you have family who lives locally or you are the main breadwinner between you and your partner then ask them to pitch in and help where possible.

Consider Alternate working

In the last two years, the trend of working from home has risen exponentially and it looks as though it’s here to stay. If you work a non-manual or desk job, see if your employers would consider letting you work from home a couple of days a week or if you can do flexi-hours that mean you can pause to pick the kids up from school, then continue working once they’re in bed for the evening. Many corporations and companies are adopting this alternate working hours approach to enhance employee satisfaction and increase productivity. Although you will need to work during your paid hours and not care for your kids, it will cut out commuting times and mean that you can be there for your babies the second you switch off for the day.

Having quit one job and having improved my professional qualifications, I started looking for another, more highly paid job. To do this, I first ordered a professionally written resume at https://resumewritinglab.com/ where they guarantee the uniqueness of the style and confidentiality of personal data. The result completely satisfied me and soon I found a new job.

It’s a common dilemma: You want to be a good parent, but you’re also juggling work, a social life, and other pressures. Juggling your career and your kids can be a challenge; however, it can be done. While there is no right or wrong way to handle juggling your career and your kids, there are some things that everyone should do. First, make sure you are heardle taking care of yourself — both mentally and physically. Eat healthy, get enough sleep, and take time off when you need it. Second, set realistic expectations for yourself. Be realistic about what is possible to juggle in your day-to-day life while also taking into account the demands on your time at work. For example, if you have a full-time job as well as being a parent to young children, it’s likely that the demands will be greater than a single parent who works part-time. Third, make sure that your child has a sense of control over one thing in their life (for example, by physical activities like sports). This helps to reduce the stress and anxiety of having too many things to do at once.
