Explore New Zealand at Your Own Pace with a Self-Drive Package

2

New Zealand is a beautiful country to travel at your pace with a self-drive tour itinerary. You can rent a car or van and visit both the North and South Islands. You will find New Zealand self-drive tours from seven to 30 days with lodging included designed for people who want to travel at their leisure.

New Zealand Travel Organizer will arrange a custom self-drive holiday tour package for you based on the season and the amount of time you have available. Some special meals, tours, and all accommodations are included.

New Zealand experiences a reversal of seasons because of its location south of the Equator. Summer is December to February and winter is June to August. The country experiences sub-tropical weather in the north and a cool rain forest in the south.

People drive on the left-hand side of the road and the steering wheel is on the right-side of the vehicle. Safe driving requires familiarity with New Zealand’s rules and signs.

You can hire a car if you are at least 21 years old and have a valid driver’s license from any country. Self-drive packages are pre-paid and include all vehicle insurance.

Your vehicle is usually a Toyota Corolla or Camry no more than 18 months old. You can arrange for larger vehicles and minivans if your family or friends accompany you to New Zealand. Distances and driving times are listed in various itineraries based on roads and speed limits.

Seven-day and 10-day packages

If you have a week or 10 days to spend in New Zealand, you can arrange a car hire complete with four-star accommodations. The itineraries include cruises, a train ride, and special dinners. You can schedule many of these activities at your convenience.

You can tour either island beginning in Auckland, Queenstown, or Christchurch. Self-drive packages can be round-trip to the starting destination or a drop-off at the end city. Flexibility is the key to self-drive packages.

The seven-day South Island Loop includes a Milford Sound cruise taking the TranzAlpine train from Greymouth to Christchurch. A car awaits your arrival. Other areas of the South Island can be explored at your leisure.

A South Island Coast-to-Coast package includes a flight over the Franz Josef glacier with a snow landing and the Milford Sound cruise along with the hired car. Most of the packages include a tour of the Hobbiton Movie Set where filming of The Lord of the Rings trilogy took place.

14-Day packages

Two weeks in New Zealand give you more time to explore the country and both islands on your own. Experience the Waitomo Caves and Skyline Gondola at Rotorua. A buffet dinner on North Island is included. You can participate in a Lord of the Rings Back Country Tour in the lush rainforest. Enjoy jet boating on South Island out of Queenstown.

You will have a car for 14 days and four-star accommodations. You can stay longer at any destination. Various packages include the Cook Strait Interisland Ferry and a cruise of the Milford Sound. North Island stops include the Maori Experience, Hangi Dinner, and a Kiwi House Tour.

A South Island family adventure package for people who like watersports includes whale watching off the Kaikoura coast, a kayak tour around Split Apple Rock, a Doubtful Sound cruise, and a soak in the Glacier Hot Pools after flying over the glacier in a helicopter.

21-Day packages

Three weeks offer extended time to explore New Zealand at your leisure. An all-inclusive package with 21 nights in four-star accommodations takes you from Auckland to Christchurch or Queensland. The reverse is available beginning in Queenstown with a Milford Sound Cruise.

Explore the Bay of Islands on a cruise, Hells Gate Geothermal Reserve, and Maori Cultural Experience on North Island. Take a ferry to the South Island where you experience the Franz Josef Glacier and many other attractions.

30-Day packages

Tours are the way to explore all of this island nation. A self-drive itinerary includes the Taieri Gorge Railway and return flight between Invercargill and Stuart Island and other attractions. These tours are the ultimate vacation to New Zealand for people who want to see it all.

Guided tours, coach tours, and ski packages are also available through New Zealand Travel Organizer. New Zealand self-drive tours remain a popular way for visitors to see all of the important areas of interest.

English is the native language, and the people are friendly. Visitors to New Zealand who have experienced the country always want to return.
