Mom Blog Society had the pleasure not to long ago to experience the Amway Grand Plaza in Grand Rapids Michigan. Not only did we experience the Amway Grand Plaza but we had a chance to view the city of Gran Rapids also!

Before we get started informing you about all the fun we had let me tell you more in detail about the history of the Amway Grand Plaza.

In 1913 the cornerstone of the Pantlind hotel was laid, and initial construction of the hotel began. Consider other important milestones of the year 1913 to gain some perspective: It was the year of President Gerald R. Ford’s birthday, the first year of the income tax and the inspiration for the name of The 1913 Room – now known as Ruth’s Chris.

Now on to the year 1995–2000

Along with bringing the Amway Grand Plaza back to its former glory, something else amazing happened along the way; The hotel’s rebirth sparked the resurgence of downtown Grand Rapids – a fact that’s been well documented around the country and in articles, like this one in Forbe’s Magazine.

The Amway Grand Plaza! What can I say? Oh, I got it! Elegant, friendly staff, clean, boutiques, large gift shop. The list goes on. I spent 2 nights at The Amway Grand Plaza in Grand Rapids Michigan with my spouse and enjoyed every bit of it.

Let’s begin with our beautiful room on the 8th floor in the Towers. When my spouse and I walked in, we were greeted with a fresh and clean smelling hotel room filled with sunlight. The room featured two queen sized beds, a lovely updated bathroom, a view of the downtown Grand Rapids and also a view of The Grand River. Pure beauty! Take a look at some awesome pics below.

After check-in, we decided to walk around to check out all of the hotel features. The main floor of the hotel consisted of various boutiques, bar and grills, and two Wolfgang Puck eateries.

Nights in downtown Grand Rapids offers so many adventures. Whether you are there with your spouse, family or just a night out on the town with friends, Grand Rapids can cater to all of your needs. Horse and Carriage rides, elegant restaurants, streets romantically lit by lights lined throughout the mazes of fun…sounds like a fairy tale to me. This is what we experienced in Grand Rapids.

We visited Flanagan’s and B.O.B bar and grills and were extremely delighted with the friendly service and great food and music selection. We also had a chance to visit the Grand Rapids Public Museum and the Grand Rapids Art Museum. Aside from attending different places we often found ourselves just walking and taking in the beautiful scenery.

When we tired ourselves walking, a beautiful horse and carriage came to our rescue! Dixie, the amazing horse that gave us our tour of downtown, was phenomenal!

This was our first horse and carriage ride! Dixie dropped me and my spouse off at B.O.B; a three story building with a restaurant, bar & grill and Dr. Grin’s comedy club.

Nights in Grand Rapids will present you with so many fun-filled options, please visit the Amway Grand Plaza and thank me later!!

Last but not least we would like to Thank a very special PR representatives (Stephanie) who made sure we didn’t need anything and for the bag of goodies placed on our bed! Thank You So Much!!

This is one of the prettiest hotels I have seen! It reminds me of a couple of classy hotels in Europe. It has that historic feeling and a romantic atmosphere. I like the way the hotel is chroniclized in this article. The history of places have always fascinated me.

The lobby looks pretty. For me the most important thing is cleanliness. Whenever I stay in a room. I bring my own cleansers and clean the kitchen and bath before using it. Even if it’s already clean.

The fountain, the amenities in the restored hotel and service are what I look for in a hotel. I like that the Grand Rapids Art Museum is nearby. The bathrooms look sleek with all that stone and handheld shower. It must have been a grand time with your family at this classy hotel.
