5 Teeth Alignment Options to Improve Your Smile

1

Did you know that 7 out of 10 people feel self-conscious about their teeth? If you fall into this statistic and are looking for teeth alignment options to help you sport your best smile, you are in the right place.

Keep reading to learn 5 teeth alignment options to get you on the road to a picture-perfect smile.

  1. Invisalign

A popular option to straighten teeth is to use Invisalign. These aligners are practically invisible (hence the name) and they are removable. The aligners are made custom-fit for your mouth after the dentist makes impressions of your current tooth alignment.

When you opt for this option you will have to go in and see your Invisalign provider every two to three weeks to receive a new set of aligners. Every set of new aligners moves your teeth a little more each time to help get your teeth to the end goal of a straight smile.

Keep in mind this option is not meant for severe tooth alignments, that will require something a little stronger.

  1. Metal Braces

This is an option that has been used for many years because of how effective they are. A dentist attaches metal braces with flexible wire, bands, and brackets. If your teeth alignment is more complicated this might be a better option than Invisalign.

Metal braces have come a long way from when they initially came out into the market. They are a lot smaller and a lot more comfortable than they used to be.

  1. Ceramic Braces

These braces are similar to metal braces except that the wire that connects them are either tooth-colored or invisible. If you prefer for your braces to not be as noticeable then this might be the best option for you.

The process is the same as metal braces except that ceramic braces can break easier and are also more prone to staining.

  1. Porcelain Braces

These braces also work the same way as metal braces but are made out of porcelain instead of metal. The porcelain is tinted so that it can blend in with your teeth. The wires are not clear though, they are still metal but because of the porcelain brackets, the braces are not as noticeable.

  1. Lingual Braces

This is another option that is very similar to metal braces but the brackets are placed on the inner side of the teeth instead of the outer side of the teeth. Your braces will not be seen at any time unless you open your mouth wide enough for the inner edges of your teeth to be seen.

Because of how inconspicuous these are and harder to adjust they are more expensive than other options.

Which Teeth Alignment Options Will You Choose?

Now that you are aware of different teeth alignment options, it is time to choose the best option for you. Make sure you take your budget into consideration and make an appointment with your local orthodontist to see what their opinion is based on your current teeth alignment.
