3 Vacation Must-Haves in 2024

Let’s be honest, you’re thinking about your 2024 vacation already, aren’t you? It’s hard not to in the month of January when the days are dark and the glow of Christmas has fizzled all the way out.

We can’t help but sit back and dream about being somewhere sunny, whether that’s the golden beaches of Portugal or the electric streets of Tokyo, Japan. But if you’re already thinking about getting away this year, it’s also important to think about what you’ll take with you.

It’s funny how unprepared we can be for vacations when we start planning them months in advance. We think about all the typical stuff, like toothbrushes, sun cream, and sunglasses, but we rarely think about how our vacations could have been improved in the past, and buy the things that ensure we won’t make the same mistake.

What kind of stuff are we talking about, we hear you ask. Well, to answer that question, we’ve listed out a few examples of the travel must-haves that are probably not on your list in 2024, but definitely should be!

Personalising Your Vacation

How many times do we lose our bags while on vacation, or leave our bottles behind in our hotel? Owning monogrammed tote bags, cases, bottles, and more can ensure you make the process of retrieving your belongings so much easier.

This is especially true in the airport, or for people staying in hostels rather than hotels. After all, how many times have you spent time looking for distinctive marks on your stuff to work out what’s yours? Monogrammed belongings can make them easily identifiable, while also adding a fashionable flair at the same time!

New Ways to Power Your Vacation

Another problem that you’ve likely experienced in the past is the dreaded ‘low battery’ sign. While phones are getting better every year, battery life isn’t improving dramatically along with performance, which means you have to charge them more often than you’d like.

This isn’t so much of an issue at home, but while travelling abroad, it can become far more important. The last thing you want to be doing is hiking in a strange place with no battery on your phone, so make sure you bring power banks that can alleviate the problem.

We’re not talking about those big, bulky battery packs that you have to lug around in your backpack. We’re talking about tech like Magsafe, which uses magnets to attach the power bank to the back of your phone. This will ensure your battery is boosted throughout the day, without the hassle of remembering and carrying the power bank itself.

Keeping Your Vacation Safe

We’re going to end with perhaps the most important – and yet rarely ever packed – vacation must-have. The first-aid kit! If you’re anything like us, you’ve had a few accidents while abroad.

Perhaps you’ve fallen down some stairs, suffered from sunburn, or grazed your knee while hiking some mountain trails. Whatever it is, even a minor injury can ruin a vacation if it’s not treated in time, and the last thing you want to be doing is racing around pharmacies asking for help in a language you don’t understand!

In 2024, you should try to avoid the mistakes you always make and actually take a first-aid kit with you on the plane, ensuring you have the remedy in hand if anything goes wrong. While you’re doing this, make sure to bring the other items on this list, and do research online for more must-have ideas!
