Owning a home is a big responsibility and can take a lot of work to maintain. Not only do they cost a lot of money to buy, but they can cost a lot of money to upkeep as well. Although, in the long run, if you don’t keep your home maintained and updated, it will lose tremendous value and possibly end up costing even more money to do repairs. You don’t want to have to fix a big problem when you had the option to solve a small one. And the amazing thing about the age we live in is – it’s never been easier. With iPhones and the technology we have available to us today, getting information has never been easier. There are multiple apps out there that can help you keep your home updated and clean. Here are a few that I’ve found most helpful.
1. Chore Hero
If your family is athletic and competitive, then this app is perfect for your family. This app sets up a score board type setting and everyone in your family is able to “score points” by doing and completing chores. The interface on the app is extremely easy and simple to use, with an organized layout. The app is an efficient way to keep track of who’s doing what in your home. See who has what it takes to be the Chore Hero in your home.
2. Alarm.com
Having a maid is by far the easiest and most effective way to keep your home clean. But you’re not always home and not everyone feels comfortable with giving their maid a key to their home. I found this app from a home alarm monitoring company called, Smith Security, who developed the app. alarm.com links up with your home security system and allows you to control just about every part of your home from the app. The lights, the thermostat, even unlocking and locking the doors can all be done from the app. You can also give out pass codes to your housemaids, babysitters, or whoever so they can have access to your house, but if it was ever left unlocked it would send you a push notification and tell you who and when it was left unlocked. Great app to help keep your home updated and safe – let alone clean.
3. HomeRoutines
This is a to-do list type app made specifically for home cleaning. What makes this to-do list so great, is that it doesn’t really act like a to-do list. It just displays your daily, weekly, or monthly routines and resets itself. So every morning you can start fresh. There are some things that need to be done daily, and a normal to-do list would make you reenter or copy the task for each day, but not with HomeRoutines. It’s set up just for home tasks so you an keep track of what you need to do each and everyday.
