Whether you’re a total wellness junkie already or you’re just getting started on your journey of becoming healthier, you may already know that there are so many ways to get a little bit healthier and bring some more pep into your step. From the inside to the outside, your body and mind deserve the very best care, and there are so many ways to explore what that means to you. If you’re ready to get started on your health and wellness path, here are just a few thoughtful ways that you can add to your routine.

  • Meditate

If you’ve never meditated before, meditation might seem like a bit of a foreign concept, but it’s actually been proven to have a variety of health benefits, both mental and physical. Even just a few minutes of meditation each day can provide a positive impact on your health, so you might as well give it a try!

  • Practice Mindfulness

Similar to meditation, mindfulness is another tool that starts with the mental benefits. Essentially, mindfulness is a technique that centers around being fully present in the current moment, no matter what you’re doing. While this can apply to meditation, it can also apply to more mundane tasks like cooking, eating or even taking a walk.

  • Get On a Sleep Schedule

Another important thing to consider about your health and wellness journey is the rest element of your life. In order to be healthy, you don’t just need to eat right and exercise, you also need enough sleep and a good rhythm to your schedule. Of course, getting seven to eight hours should be the primary focus, but having a bedtime and a standard time you wake up can definitely help you get there.

  • Take Care Of Your Oral Hygiene

Your dental health is a part of your overall health, just like everything else, so it makes sense that you should be taking care of it. By avoiding irritating foods like sugar, paying attention to the ingredients in your toothpaste, brushing and flossing daily as well as going to the dentist on a regular basis, you can take care of your oral health and hygiene properly.

  • Drink More Water

Staying hydrated is one of the most important, as well as the easiest things that you can do in order to maintain your health. Although the amount of water that everyone needs to be drinking in order to stay healthy is different from person to person, paying attention to that and keeping track of your water intake can be extremely beneficial, no matter who you are.

  • Cut Caffeine

Speaking of drinking more water, something that you might want to consider drinking less of is caffeine. Specifically, forms of caffeine like coffee and energy drinks tend to be really bad for the body, and cutting back even just a little bit can be extremely beneficial.

  • Take the Stairs

If you want to try getting a little bit more exercise in, why not make sure you’re hitting your steps by taking the stairs whenever you get a chance. This is an easy way to build a bit more exercise into your daily routine without having to go out of your way to find it. Especially if you live in a building with an elevator, try taking the stairs at least once a day and see how it makes you feel.

  • Laugh a Little More

Laughter truly is the best medicine, and whether the claims are true that laughing can help your physical health as well as your mental health, bringing in a bit more happiness into your life can definitely at least improve the mental self-care aspect of caring for your health. Of course, it isn’t as simple as it sounds, but trying to bring a little bit more levity into your life can be extremely fun and relieving.

  • Check In With Your Mental Health

Your mental health is one of the most important parts of caring for your health, no matter where you are or what your mental health history looks like. Checking in with yourself is a part of self care, and whether that means you go to therapy regularly, lean on a friend or just simply go easy on yourself more often, checking in with your mental health should become a regular part of your routine.

  • Eat the Rainbow

In terms of eating and food choices, one of the easiest ways to ensure that you’re staying healthy and getting a variety of nutrients is to eat a variety of colors of the rainbow in terms of fruits and vegetables. If you aren’t ready for something like meal prepping and dieting, eating a variety of colors in your diet can be an easy way to hit your markers.

Ten Thoughtful Ways to Be Healthier

If you’re looking to be healthier in your life, there are so many ways you can do it. From cutting caffeine to practicing a bit of mindfulness, there are so many directions you can go with your wellness journey.
