Chewylou Designs™ is an inspirational women’s t-shirt line designed by yoga enthusiast Alyssa Dinowitz, created from the name of her two dogs: Chewbacca, aka “Chewy,” and Lexington, aka “Lexilou.”
The t-shirt line includes tank tops, short sleeves and long sleeves with catchy acronyms and motivational words, including GIVE (Generosity, Integrity, Vision, Effort) HOPE, PEACE, FAITH and more.
The shirts are meant to inspire through positive thought and promote physical and spiritual strength, with designs that are drawn from life experiences Dinowitz’s, including a design created specifically for her mother who courageously lost her battle with breast cancer – LIVE (Love Imagine Value Embrace).
Not only are they positive shirts, but positive things come from each sale, where Chewylou gives a portion of all proceeds to meaningful and relevant charities, including the Lupus Foundation of America, Planting Peace, Best Friends Animal Rescue, Faces of Hope Fund and Chemo Companions.
In keeping with its commitment to actively support non-profit organizations, some of Chewylou’s t-shirts are screen printed at Michael’s Garden, a place where adults with special needs learn vocational skills by trained professionals.
