Baker’s Mat – Silicone Baking Mat

I love baking. As I have mentioned in past posts. The kids ask me to bake for them all of the time and I just can’t say no. One of their favorite requests are chocolate chip cookies.
I recently had the opportunity to work with Baker’s Mat and review one of their Silicone Baking Mats free of charge. I was extremely excited to be reviewing and trying a silicone baking mat. In the past I would use parchment paper and cooking sprays. I was extremely unhappy with both products and the final clean up. The parchment papers always seemed to burn and with as much as I bake can get expensive. With the Baker’s Mat Silicone Baking Mat, I eliminate the extra cost of parchment paper because I can reuse my baking mat over and over again. I also do not have to worry about anything burning, other than the cookies when I forget to set the timer. I found out the hard way that using cooking sprays on baking pans can destroy the pans. I don’t know how many baking sheets I have thrown away because of the sticky, yucky residue that cooking sprays leave behind. It is near impossible to get the baking sheets clean. I am so happy that the silicone mat replaces the need for parchment paper and cooking sprays. Not only is the baking mat easy to use but it is healthier than cooking sprays. The Baker’s Mat Silicone Baking Mat is FDA approved. Clean up with the silicone baking mat is a breeze because it is dishwasher safe. You can also clean the baking mat easily with soap and water. The Silicone Baking Mat is great for baking cookies, rolling dough, making candy or pizza dough. I have also used the mat for making chocolate candies. I used to get frustrated with saran wrap and parchment paper when making chocolate candies. The chocolate would stick to the parchment paper and was impossible to peel off without damaging the candy. Saran wrap just held the chocolate hostage and ended up in the garbage chocolate and all. With the Baker’s Mat, making candy is a piece of cake and is easy to peel off of the mat. The Baker’s Mat easily handles the extreme temperatures of the freezer, microwave and all types of ovens. The silicone baking mat withstands temperatures from -40°F to 480°F.
