6 Jobs You Didn’t Know You Could Travel With

0

Want to get out and see more of the country? Maybe you just want a different perspective of your own state. For many, getting up and moving isn’t a simple process. You need a new job, a new home, and the resources to move all your stuff to the new location. And sometimes, you’d prefer a job you can take with you anywhere. There are obvious online jobs that can travel, but did you know that there are other careers that can take you to new places? Here are some options you may not have known you could travel with.

Insurance Adjuster

Did you know that insurance adjusters work regionally? This means that they go to places outside of their city for periods of time when needed. While some adjusters focus on things like car accidents, others provide information to insurance companies about the damage to a home and what it will cost to replace. Home adjusters sometimes work in conjunction with appraisers. When a home is a total loss, they might look to an appraisal and a home appraisal checklist to get an idea of what the home was worth before it was destroyed. Most of the time, appraisers are used to determine the value of a house for sale and adjusters document damage.

Nursing

If your career as a nurse is starting to feel mundane and you’d like a change of scenery every now and then, look into becoming a travel nurse. Not only do travel nurses make more than the average hospital nurse, but many agencies even pay for housing and food costs when you’re on assignment. You’ll spend around 3 months on a given assignment before you move on to the next. This is also a great way to decide where to live if you’re looking for a permanent move. You’ll still work standard 40-hour weeks, but in your off-hours, you are free to explore your area. You can visit local tourist destinations and so much more.

Semi-Truck Drivers

If you love driving and seeing the country, then get licensed to drive a semi-truck. These drivers do important work to get food, essentials, and other goods from one side of the country to another. When they are on time, they help contribute to a stable food supply and more. If you love to travel, you might enjoy working as a driver, instead of something like an airline attendant.

Bartenders

If you want to travel to a few different places a year for an extended trip, why not become a bartender? When you travel to destinations with restaurants and hotels, there are sure to be bars that need skilled, friendly faces to make and serve drinks. Some places are only open seasonally, which can make this job appealing to people who don’t mind the long, late hours that bartending requires. Spend your winters skiing the slopes in Vail and your summers near the beach in Florida. You’ll get to travel, meet new people, and earn a decent wage for the work you do.

Blog Writer

Do you love to write about a wide variety of topics? Consider working as a writer. Blogging can take on many different forms. You might create your own blog and brand and monetize it. Perhaps you choose to ghostwrite for someone else’s blog. Additionally, you could offer your expertise on a particular subject as a guest writer. No matter what angle you approach it from, you can make money from anywhere by writing blog posts. Want to travel to the beach for a few weeks, or visit beautiful Tennessee? Working as a writer can help you travel to the places you want.

Teaching

Most people think that teachers are bound to only work in schools. But with the use of the internet, you can take your teaching skills on the go. Create online courses and then sell them through places like Udemy online. You can develop courses that are live. You teach at that moment. You can also develop ones that are more passive. You create the videos and content one time and spend your efforts marketing and promoting the course rather than teaching it in person.

No matter what, travel is possible for almost anyone when they are willing to look at their job and career choices a little differently.
