This baby is fun to drive, quieter than most vehicles I’ve ever driven and offers features that are easily addictive. Some people may say the exterior design is a bit weird but the 2014 Kia Soul is much more sophisticated than it’s predecessors. And speaking of exterior, those power-folding side mirrors are refreshing when driving into those more narrow parking spots. I mean, who wants to come out to their car to find it missing a side mirror? Not me!
The 2014 model also has brighter multi-reflector headlights, as well as larger and bolder tail lights to give it a fresher appearance.
You’ll also be happy to note that the lift gate is now 2.4-inches wider, making it much simpler to load up groceries and other cargo.

A few of my favorite features include the push button start located on the center of the gearshift console, control buttons located on the heated steering wheel (which are convenient and easy to use), a brighter instrument panel, and something super cool, ever changing mood speaker lights— that go from red, to yellow, purple, blue and green. Awesome!
The Infinity AM/FM/MP3 SiriusXM Stereo System provides more than enough clear, crisp sound when jamming to your favorite tunes via the 6 speakers with A-Pillar mounted tweeters. Plus, the bluetooth capabilities makes phone calls a hands-free breeze.
An upgraded feature includes the navigation system with an 8-inch touch screen and voice-command real time traffic. This car also has that ever popular back up camera. I’ve been so spoiled that now I truly miss THAT particular feature. hehee!
Something else that’s easy to love is the revamped interior. The 2014 Kia Soul offers soft-touch materials rather than hard plastic on the instrument panel, center console, and door panels. As an extra bonus, the Panoramic Sunroof with Power Sunshade comes as an option but definitely worth the extra money. I love how it runs the whole length of the car making the dark moonlit sky and stars easy to see during nighttime driving (not that you, the driver would be looking up, haha). Your kids would really enjoy that!
Now that I’ve experienced the ventilated and heated front seats, and heated rear seats, I can’t imagine driving a vehicle without them. They’re great for keeping your buns nice and toasty when it’s cold out.
Gas mileage is pretty good on the 2014 Kia Soul as well. I averaged 26 miles per gallon during my test drive— YAY, no gas hog!
For a 5-seater vehicle with extra cargo space and roomy seats, the 2014 Kia Soul is one affordable family car with loads of bells and whistles. I really enjoyed my week hitting the roads in this comfortable, yet impressive little vehicle.
