We don’t often think about how the air we breathe in our homes affects our daily lives. If you have a family similar to mine. You often battle different allergies, colds, flus, etc. Over the last 2 years we have been testing out different air purifiers. With the hopes of finding one that will stick around. With the holidays coming up, I know that family will be around a lot more often. I wanted to make sure that we have a healthy cleaning breathing environment.
So we recently got our hands on a new purifier, the PuroAir 240 HEPA Air Purifier. The first thing that appealed to us about this purifier is the size. It’s not too small and not too big. For optimal performance, it is recommended to be at least 8 inches from any wall surface. Outside of that, it is quite a compact machine that takes up little space. Which has been a nice change from the purifiers we have had in the past.
From the start-up, the PuroAir 240 will go through a calibration to test your air. When the calibration has finished, you’ll be presented with a color that indicates the purity of your air.
- Green – Acceptable air quality
- Yellow – Moderate air quality
- Red – Poor air quality
The PuroAir 240 will then begin its purifying process of up to 1,115 square feet. Filtering different allergens, pollens, dust, odors, smoke, and other contaminants in the air. Filtering up to an incredible 99.9% of pollutants.
This filtering power is due to the designers of the HEPA 14 air filter. Already coming out at 10x stronger than the previous iteration, the HEPA 13 filter. You’ll be able to breathe easy knowing you’re filtering out 99.9% of fine particles. All the way down to the size of 0.1 microns of pollutants. The unique Triple Purification Technology consists of 3 layers.
- Layer 1: Prefilters particles out of the air, collecting contaminants such as hair, fibers, dust, etc.
- Layer 2: This layer contains the HEPA 14 filter. Which further filters out smoke, pollens, viruses, and other common pollutants.
- Layer 3: The inner layer consists of a high-efficiency activated carbon. Which filters dangerous gaseous pollutants such as formaldehyde.
As a family of 2 adults, 3 kids, and 2 dogs. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the HEPA 14 filter. The PuroAir 240 has been a blessing in disguise for our family.
