Four women, all Chinese immigrants living in San Fransisco through friendship and tragedy form a profound bond that carries them though life’s turbulence and triumphs that last a lifetime. When June (Ming-Na Wen) loses her mother and is overcome with grief her mother’s three best friends, and their daughter’s, share a lifetime of memories that binds them together and shapes each of their lives in different ways.
As with every culture the struggle between mothers and daughters is typical. The Chinese heritage and tradition soon become a priority for the four Americanized daughters
as they travel though their own lives journeys that will make you laugh, cay and leave you inspired.
