Atlanta, Georgia—this fantastic place is everything that the United States is about. From glorified and intense contribution to the US of A’s history to the fresh ground of Hollywood’s most celebrated of movies like ATL, Ride Along, What to Expect When You is Not Expecting and the upcoming Bad Boys movie, Atlanta has been the talking point on every tangent.

As the Capital of all-important State of Georgia, Atlanta has been historically essential in getting things done for the right cause and in a legitimate way. Its indispensable contribution in the Civil War from 1861 to 1865 redirected the course of American history for the upcoming social and political events. Who can forget the Civil Rights Movement in the 1960s, when the big man Martin Luther King Jr. himself took the Georgian Capital by the storm and once again, Atlanta shaped up the history of the American Soil.

It can be said that Atlanta, Georgia, is a very crucial piece in America’s complete puzzle that makes it the strongest nation in the whole world. But the city isn’t just about a history lesson—there are tones of fun things to do in Atlanta, and we are going to give your imagination a tour throughout the city so that you know where to go next time you visit the good old’ Big Peach. So let’s begin our virtual journey, coming from the State of Georgia, carrying the weight of over 60, 00,000 in population—THE CITY OF ATLANTA!

1.      Georgia Aquarium

A peaceful and serendipitous delight for men, women, and children that love to get lost in the aqueous blue. The Georgia Aquarium is a gregarious, blue marine universe and it houses more than 100,000 aquatic animals to please the people and the aquatic life. It is the largest aquarium in the world, and if any other aquarium or zoo cannot quench your thirst for marine life, it’ll surely be done here.

This aquarium houses permanent exhibits with the likes of Ocean Voyager, River Scout, the adventurous and thrilling Cold Water Quest, and interactive galleries. If your thirst for petrichor and hunger for aquatic life can’t be taken care of here, then you, my friend, should swim down the Pacific Ocean to have the full view.

2.      World of Coca-Cola

If you want to “taste the feeling” then you can cherish it from a convenience store nearby, but to live up close and personal with the world’s favorite soft drink, you’ve got to pay the World of Coca Cola a visit. Every label of the Coca Cola’s beverages proudly brags about how the giant is crafted and made in Atlanta Georgia, and the World of Coca Cola will make you feel proud every time you take a sip of its refreshing range of Bev’s.

Often known as the Coca Cola museum, it showcases a long-range of innovation and changes that Coke went through the years. All of this is featured via interactive memorabilia, motion pictures and exhibits that revolve around the life span of the soft drink behemoth that keeps on getting more and more popular each passing day after its debut in 1886.

3.      Centennial Olympic Park

How can we forget the hallmark 1996 Olympics of the summer, officially known as the Games of the XXVI Olympiad, and how impactful it was on the sports fraternity? The Centennial Olympic Park is stretched over an area of 21 acres and is a place where people go to seek inner peace while interacting with the greenery all around.

The place is filled with walking paths that strollers and runners enjoy every passing day, and many Atlanta locals have made it a part of their daily routine. The famous Fountain of Rings is a lucrative eye-catcher to visitors’ eyes, and Centennial is the place to go if you want to enjoy the day breeze and go for a picnic under the sun. Moon gazing is an alluring experience if you wish to explore the selenophile inside of you.

4.      Atlanta Botanical Garden

Since we are talking about foraying into the serenity of nature and calm of the forest breeze, then we cannot overlook what the Atlanta Botanical Garden has to offer. This one’s even more significant than the Olympics Park and is spread around the area of 30 acres. If you can close your eyes for a minute and imagine yourself surrounded with lush forests, trees, and fountains, then the Atlanta Botanical Garden is one to visit.

It’s a great place to visit if you and the gals and pals are planning to host cocktail parties and weekend brunches. The Atlanta Botanical Garden can be a great place to host concerts, something that brings out an experience of a lifetime. If you wish to surround yourself in all the good vibes and please your eyes with a sight to cherish, then this destination is made for you.

5.      Zoo Atlanta

The best part of the Zoo Atlanta is that everything you see there is just sumptuously meticulous. Running with the motto that says “Conservation in Action,” the Zoo Atlanta is where you’d see the Almighty’s most beautiful creations—Animals, in a new habitat like never before. This is one place to go, especially if you have kids by your side and even if you don’t, go there and amaze yourself.

This humungous zoo houses more than 1500 animals (yes, one thousand and five hundred!), all of them chilling out in a natural habitat that’s modern in its sense. These 1500 animals belong to 220 species, and there’s hardly any animal that you name and won’t find at the Atlanta Zoo. Do visit this place and make your jaw drop even if you don’t have a knack for nature.

6.      Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park

In January 2018, this site became a National Historical Park after President Trump put his John Hancock on it. We all know how vital Mr. Martin Luther King Jr. has been to the United States and beyond the American borders. It’s safe to say that his personality has been a catalyst to put an end to racism at an astronomical level, if not in a complete sense. Even if it isn’t completely done, MLK always “had a dream,” and people are in constant pursuit to realize it.

This National Historical Park is a cluster of buildings like his birthplace, Ebenezer Baptist Church where the visionary was baptized and of course, his final resting place. The vibes at the Martin Luther King Jr. Park is something that makes hairs on the back of your neck tremble—it’s a place to visit if you pass through Atlanta.

There are lots of fun things to do in the City of Atlanta. If you are an art lover, a nature freak, an aquarist or you love a good roam around with family, friends and of course, kids, then this place are a must-visit for you. Next time you have a weekend free on the calendar, you know that Atlanta is the way to go!
