You can use any flavor of tea instead of the Earl Grey to mix up this recipe even more! Some favorites are chai tea, peach tea and cinnamon tea!
Watermelon Iced Tea
A delicious, silly drink for everyone on hot sunny days spent outside.
Ingredients
½ watermelon
3 family-sized iced tea brew bags
3 tablespoons of lemon juice
1 cup of sugar (more or less to taste)
1 sprig of mint (for garnish)
Yields 3 liters
De-seed and cut watermelon into cubes. Place in a blender with 1 cup of sugar (more or less depending on your taste), 3 tablespoons of lemon juice and blend until smooth.
Heat 2 quarts of water to 180 degrees (just below boiling). Take off heat and add iced tea bags. Let steep for 7 minutes then promptly remove bags. Pour hot tea into a 3 liter pitcher and add ice cubes to the pitcher until it is 2/3 full. Allow ice to melt and then combine with watermelon mixture in a serving pitcher or container. Stir until thoroughly mixed and serve with a mint leaf for garnish. Serve immediately and enjoy! If tea begins to separate, simply stir again.
Lemonade Iced Tea
Here’s an iced tea with a little zing!
Ingredients
3 family-sized iced Tea brew bags
1 packet (2-quart sized) of Crystal Light Lemonade
Or
12 oz can of Lemonade from concentrate
4-6 lemons cut in halves
Yields 3 liters
Heat 2 quarts of water to 180 degrees (just below boiling). Take off heat and add iced tea bags. Let steep for 7 minutes then promptly remove bags. Pour hot tea into a 3 liter pitcher and add ice cubes to the pitcher until it is full (If using 12 oz can of Lemonade from concentrate, you’ll want to fill pitcher ¾ full with ice). Allow ice to melt and then add packet of Crystal Light Lemonade (or 12 oz can.) Add lemon halves to pitcher or serving container. Stir until blended and serve over ice!
