Agave nectar is growing in popularity as a sweetener substitute for sugar and honey. Made from agave plants found primarily in Latin America, agave nectar has been used for hundreds of years in that region, but is just recently becoming popular in the United States.

If you’re looking to add the best agave nectar to your next delicious meal, we’ve got you covered. These agave nectar recipes will add a sweet delicious touch to your next meal, no matter what types of recipes you’re using. Bon Appetit!

Overnight Oats

Overnight oats are becoming wildly popular as an easy, healthy, and inexpensive breakfast. For anyone that likes to wake up and eat without any work, and don’t mind doing a little prep at night, overnight oats are a godsend.

The primary ingredients are oats and greek yogurt, but it’s the little additions that make your overnight oats uniquely you. One of our favorite additions to overnight oats is a couple of tablespoons of agave nectar. It adds a little sweetness to your breakfast, and mixes in easily, as agave syrup dissolves better than honey.

Breakfast Quinoa

Another delicious, healthy breakfast food is a bowl of cinnamon quinoa. This recipe requires 1 cup of milk,

1 cup of water, 1 cup of quinoa, 2 cups of fresh blackberries, 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, and to top it all off, a few teaspoons of agave nectar.

After bringing the milk, water, and quinoa to a boil, let it simmer for about 15 minutes until the liquid is pretty much gone. Now it’s time to add the berries, cinnamon, and some nuts such as pecans if desired. Once it’s all mixed together and ready to serve, drizzle some of that delicious agave nectar over the top.

Agave Nectar Recipes For Drinks

Agave nectar isn’t just for fine dining or delicious cuisine. It can also be used in plenty of your favorite drinks, from your morning coffee to a fancy cocktail

In the mornings, try adding agave nectar to your black tea instead of honey! It dissolves faster, and in our opinion, tastes better too! It also makes a good sweetener for iced tea.

Looking for a delicious cocktail? Try adding a little agave nectar to your next margarita, or replace the simple syrup in your favorite cocktail with an equal amount of agave nectar.

Other Types of Recipes Made Better with the Best Agave Nectar

Breakfast foods and delicious drinks aren’t the only ways to utilize agave nectar, although they might be the most popular.

Agave nectar can be used as a sugar or honey substitute in your next baking project. It makes a delicious addition to brownies and cakes, especially those with a latin twist, such as a mole desert. It also makes a great sweet glaze for a savory recipe, like sauteed seafood or your next batch of homemade tacos.
