  • Invest in a Great Tree

Before you invest any money in Christmas tree decorations, you should first find a good quality tree. Traditionally pine trees are used, however if you don’t have access to pine trees, you could opt for a plastic tree instead. When choosing a tree, it should be at least 6 feet tall, and well-balanced.

If you have access to pine trees, you should remember that these trees shed easily, so be careful when you transport them. If you purchase one, make sure that the boughs are still intact, and only a few of the pines have fallen off. If you buy a plastic tree, make sure that the tree still resembles a real tree. You don’t want your tree to look too fake. It should also match your overall theme. Overall, if you are going to get a tree, you should be as discerning as possible.

  • Invest in Quality Christmas Lights

When it comes to building a truly wonderful Christmas tree, it is important that you invest in quality lights. Your lights should not only illuminate your tree, it should also match your theme. Your lights should also be of the best quality possible.

Remember that faulty Christmas lights can be a fire hazard. So before you even think of purchasing your lights, you should do your research first. Don’t just buy your run of the mill Christmas lights. Check your perspective lights as carefully as possible. Check their links, and the bulbs. You should also check with consumer reviews, to ensure their quality. Buying good quality Christmas lights can be expensive, however it is better to invest in them. That way you won’t have to buy a new set every year.

  • Diversify Your Lighting Options

Aside from using the usual Christmas lights, it is also a good idea to use other lighting options. Back in the day, Christmas lights were the only options available. Nowadays though, numerous light options have sprung up. One such option being neon lights. Decades ago neon lights were not really an option because they were made of glass, and they were not easy to shape and power.

In the past few years though, new versions of neon lights have been invented. Companies such Ginde Star have created neon flex lights that can be cut and shaped into various shapes and dimensions. By checking online for neon flex sign ideas, you can create beautiful neon signs that will add a sense of flair to your Christmas tree decorations.

  • Have a Set Theme

Aside from having the right decorations, you should also have a set theme. By having a set theme, you will have a concrete plan for your Christmas decorations. It could be a white Christmas theme or a Disney theme. It could even be based on beloved Christmas books such as the Christmas Carols or The Grinch who stole Christmas. Your theme could practically be anything. What’s important is that you could get your hands on the needed materials.

  •  Try Your Hand in Handmade Decorations

Christmas has become quite a business through the years, and decorations are a great source of revenue for many companies. However, years before Christmas decorations were mass produced, they were handmade. Families took the time to make handmade decorations such as acorns or popcorn on a string.

You could also craft beautiful tiny houses out of wicker and candle jars to name but a few. Although crafting your own Christmas decorations is a bit time consuming and labor intensive, it is still a great way for you to create decorations that are of your very own design. It is also a way for you to spend quality time with your family.

  •   Use Ribbons Effectively

If you want to add layers to your Christmas tree, ribbons and laces are a perfect option. It is a good idea to use multiple colors because they add a sense of diversity to your decor. However, you should make sure that the colors you choose complement one another.

The usual Christmas colors of green, red and white are a great choice, however you can also experiment with other more neutral colors such as brown, peach or beige just as long as it has a more festive color to brighten it up.

If you want to add layers to your Christmas tree, different Christmas ribbons and laces are a perfect option.  As for the ribbons, you could choose plain, lined or tasseled. It’s all up to you and your theme When you arrange your ribbons, They should be spaced evenly and should not cover too much of your tree. Remember that the ribbons are only there to highlight your tree. So you should not use them too much.

  • Safety First

Although it is important that your tree decoration is beautiful and well-balanced, you should also make sure that it is as safe as possible. This is especially true if your tree is taller than 6 feet tall. The larger the tree, the more dangerous it will be when it falls down. So you should make sure that the base is secured properly.
