Why Do People Stress Over Paint Color?

0

Paint color is important. Paint color is tedious. Paint color can stress you out. Most people who paint walls in their home spend a long time and go through a tedious process when picking the perfect colors for the walls. Painting is a hard enough process that no one wants to start over and redo. This is why painting stresses people out. Here are a few reason why choosing the right paint color is so important.

Too Dark

Painting a room a color that is too dark will cause a room to be heavy and semi depressing. There are ways to paint a room a dark color and still pull it off but ultimately what determines if a paint color is too dark is the overall feel and mood you want a room to convey. If you want a room to be fun and exciting choosing a color that is too dark will suck all of the positive energy out. If you are wanting a room to be more cozy you will want to go with a darker shade but not too dark where it makes everyone fall asleep.

Too Light

Painting a room a color that is too light can bring too much energy to a room that is desired to be more calm and relaxing. If you choose a color that is too light it might wash out other pieces in the room cause a room to be too exciting or too bright.

Wrong Shade

When you are choosing a paint color try to find an object that will be in the room to match the paint color too. You can take the object into your local home improvement store and they can perfectly match the color. The reason you can to do this is because if you want the walls to match an accent color in a rug or piece of furniture, even if the color is a shade off it will destroy the entire flow of a room. This is why making sure you have the right shade is so important.

Bad Job

Painting does take skill and it can be done wrong. When you paint you have to make sure that the paint in going on evenly. If the paint does not go on even then it will dry with lighter spot that can be very obvious and very ugly. When painting you also have to make sure that you tape the desired areas off very well so that paint does not get anywhere it is not supposed to. If when you paint you do a bad job it wont look good and you wont be happy with the final product.

Long Term

When painting you have to think of that room long term and if the color you are choosing is a color you will want a couple years from then. If would be horrible to paint and guest bed room pink (not like anyone would) and then have a baby boy who has to have that room. Not that you can’t change the paint color it is just a hassle. The point is choosing a color that you will be happy with for along time.
