I received this camcorder a few days ago and immediately wanted to see how it handles underwater. More accurately, I wanted to see if it was truly waterproof. Since it’s a very cold spring here right now, swimming with it was out of the question. So, I filled up the bathtub and placed it underwater. I kept it in the water for about ten-minutes and when I took it out, It still worked! I was super excited. Next I inserted a 32GB SD disk and took hours of video and over 100 stills. The quality was excellent both in video and stills.
I would highly recommend the Vivitar DVR 850W Digital Video Recorder to anyone that is looking to take a camcorder in the water. My son is going scuba diving in Guam soon and this will make the perfect gift for his trip.
