Top Three Selling Cars in The World

0

So what exactly differentiates one car from another and what puts a vehicle way up the list making it a top seller? The answer is simple, really. A long production run and success across the globe will put a car right at the top of any list. Yet cars for sale today are so advanced that it is difficult to put one above the other, although over the past couple of decades there has been a distinct differentiators.

Cars, as with beauty, is in the eye of the beholder – what thrills one car owner might not send shivers down the spine of another. Cars are a very personal thing; whether a vehicle is in the top three or not, if you love a certain make and will not drive another, then it is suffice to say that the particular vehicle is and always will be the number “one” to you.

Here are three cars that have been rated as the top three since Ford made its debut,  whilst selling its millionth Model T on the 10th of December 1915:

  • The model T Ford was the top seller for 45 years after it ceased producing the vehicle in 1927.
  • In 1972 VW claimed that it had taken over from Ford when the 15,007,034th had been manufactured in Feb of that year.
  • Until the late 1990’s the VW Beetle had been the top seller but was soon overtaken by the Toyota Corolla – branding was incorporated across a wide spectrum of vehicles for marketing reasons.

It was Henry Ford who made cars affordable when he expanded on his original idea by fitting his Ford Motor Company factory with moving assembly lines in 1913, with workers churning out cars every 93 minutes – but since these first assembly-lined cars were manufactured, there have been a couple of disastrous recalls that have gone down in the pages of history books. This is also why people sometimes prefer to buy second hand cars, even though buying a new car is a great prospect. Second hand cars have a benefit in that all their teething problems have been sorted out, and you will likely get a car that is very reliable. Without recalls, buying a car would have been a wonderful idea, and while it still is, there are still times where problems might occur in an assembly line – even in today’s modern world.

Although success in the motor industry is normally measured by sales, this has slowly started to change due to a number of different factors, one of them being the recent credit crisis that rocket the world. The automotive industry crisis that lasted from 2008 – 2010 has a worldwide influence on car sales. The automotive industry industry took a negative blow mainly due to the increase in automotive fuels. This was also linked to the energy crisis that lasted from 2003 – 2008, which discouraged buyers worldwide from buying sport utility vehicles due to the fact that they have a low fuel economy. This has made the top three car manufacturers in the U.S., General Motors, Chrysler, and Ford, to make these vehicles their top priority. With fewer options when it comes to fuel efficient cars, sales began to negatively slide. By 2008, this situation has become critical and was fueled by the credit crunch, which made raw materials even more expensive to buy.

Cars for sale in today’s world are all about technology, advancement and more often than not, price. It is not uncommon, therefore to find a state-of-the-art vehicle that is well-priced offering what many are looking for and that is bang for your buck.
