Childhood is full of discovery and learning, and one of the best ways to learn is through play.
When children learn by discovering and figuring things out on their own, they learn how to actually solve the unexpected problems life hands them, and not just the answers they memorized.
Lakeshore Learning has been a favorite of mine for fun, educational toys, art supplies, and learning materials. Now, with a new baby on the way, we are looking for more entertaining-but-productive things to entertain my son with.
“Lakeshore is dedicated to creating innovative educational materials that spark young imaginations, instill a sense of wonder and foster a lifelong love of learning. With materials for infants and toddlers through the 6th grade, we help children reach developmental milestones and achieve educational goals—while still having fun!”
Lakeshore’s newest arrivals are perfect for your little one’s exploration.

Slide & Build Nature Blocks:
I am always looking for new, innovative building toys for M. They are my favorite option for developmental toys, encouraging creativity, problem solving, engineering, and more, all through a natural learning experience. The thing is, M isn’t so good with piling things on top of each other. He likes to actually connect them, and LOVES putting things into holes (he sticks pens into the openings on every toy he owns.)
If this sounds like your child, the Slide & Build nature blocks are simply perfect. 60 wooden pieces include log-shaped ones with holes, and dowel shapes that fit into the holes. This offers plenty of open-ended building fun in a natural theme. Appropriate for ages 3-8 years.
M loved his “test run” of these toys, and we look forward to taking them out again when the baby arrives! They are highly entertaining, in a positive way. Once again, Lakeshore Learning has pulled through with solutions that work not only for educators and schools, but also for moms like me.Learn and Play with Lakeshore Learning
